Lol God I remember that.
I would like a sim game. But it's not 2k. They have to get rid of perfect releases. It's not realistic. I remember playing a game with Kawhi Leonard and he hit something like nine threes. So many were perfect releases. It felt so lame.
2K is still the better sim game. But it has so many annoying problems. That it just got old to me.

My preference has always been for sports games to be more casual with strong elements of sim in it. And I want those sim things to emulate what the real players do.
For example, I like that with the left stick I can dribble like Kyrie Irving because it's easy to do (casual) but the actual dribbling, the look of it, the effectiveness is true to life (sim).
I want this to be the case when I'm shooting a shot. I don't mind that we don't have different release points for different players. I want it to be simple to shoot but realistic in terms of results.
I wish this were the case in baseball games with hitting. I'm one of those strange people that would be okay with a baseball game forcing my bat back and not swing at an obvious ball if the hitter I'm controlling has an amazing eye. That would make the game more realistic in terms of results and also easy for me to avoid striking out with a player that maybe shouldn't on a bad pitch.

you explained my POV perfect. Casual/fun gameplay but sim results/stats.
fun is subjective, we all have differing opinions on what makes a game fun. im willing to bet we ALL (or most) play videogames for the fun factor/stress relief.
Live has been fun for me since 16 (though ugly at times), and that was the last year on 2k i actually enjoyed the game, 16. 2k started to feel like a 2nd job.
i didnt put Live 18 down until 19s demo came out and i see the same thing happening this year. 19 demo has been so much fun for me. cant wait to play full game

I looooooved 16.
18 I didn’t get past 2 weeks after release. The constant driving/no mid range game by the cpu was a game killer for me.
19 so far is just unbelievable to me. I can’t get enough. I too really like the “casualness” of it but I think it’s also way more sim than it gets credit for. With a few slider tweaks I’m getting very realistic stats across the board.

I played it here and there trying to see if the mid range game was fixed and it never was IMO, finally erasing it off my hard drive probably a month ago. I could never make it past half time. The cpu was just way too 1 dimensional. I also wasn’t a fan of how every shot was contested even if a defender wasn’t around you.
I think for me it went:
16 surprised me because I expected it to be complete garbage but it wasn’t that bad. I loved the presentation and over time fell in love with the quirkiness.
That got me super pumped for 17. No 17
Now I have 2 years of excitement brewing for 18. Really really disappointed and disliked 18 a lot actually. I think my expectations were too high for one and also the problems I mentioned. I also didn’t like the way the game looked. The wrinkles in the uniforms looked weird and the lighting gave a lot of players a ghoulish look.
Expectations for 19 at a low point again. Demo is insanely fun. Graphics are great. The cpu runs plays and has a mid range game. I can work for shots and contested ones drop at a reasonable rate. They would have to seriously eff up the retail game for my opinion to change. I played the demo at least 3 hours a night every night.2016 NLL Champion Saskatchewan Rush

All these companies just need competition. I miss the days where I had three baseball games, like 5 basketball games. And plenty to choose from in football.
I never thought back then we'd have less to choose from now. It's honestly bull****.

You know i enjoyed it. It's the least played mode I've played. I think it's very bare bones though I imagine they will add alot more presentation and such in the full game.

Is there a way to turn off the controller from flashing green on a perfect release? I play with the shot meter off, and it kind of ruins it for me when I know the shot is going in. I didn't see anything in settings but maybe I missed it.Comment
