Originally posted by jpupHey guys, I just want to let you all know that I am editing ratings for every player in the game based on last year's actual stats and formulas that I have come up with. I have already completely redone the block ratings for about half of the teams. I haven't been able to complete them as fast as I would like due to having to pull a lot of overtime. I hope to get them done ASAP. They are simple formulas and if all goes well with my testing then I will make them available in text form as well. This is a very long process but I think the results will be tremendous. I am trying to do what EA should have done.
I may need a couple of expierienced players to test these out before I release them, I will keep you updated.

Re: Jpup's NBA Live 2005 Rosters for XBOX Version 1 WIP
Well, what should I say first? I have completely decided that EA has no basis for any of their ratings. That probably doesn't suprise you. They say that they base them on last years stats and they are based on averages for 48 minutes. That just is simply not the case. I have spent the last several hours trying to crack the formulas that they have used for their ratings, but there is simply not a basis for them.
I have reworked my formulas until I am blue in the face and just totally pissed off. If anyone knows what formulas that they are using for a base, please tell me. I have tried every way that I can think of to come up with ratings. I'll see a pattern for a couple of guys and then bam, they just throw some number in there that make no sense at all. I should have been complete with at least 10 teams by now, but EA is very ignorant as to how to rate players. How in the hell do they give Jahidi White a 97 rating in Offensive rebounding? They seem to have just overrated people to get their teams overall rating up.
With all of this said, I can come up with my own formulas (already have), but I am not sure how well they will play in the game. I have fixed blocks for over half the players in the League and that problem seams to have been resolved. I just don't know if it's really worth it to keep going with the other categories until I can figure out this mess. Like I said earlier, I really would like some imput into all of this. I don't know, maybe my math is off.
The problems are really compounded due to EA being ignorant again and making it where it takes at least 5 seconds to load every single player to edit them. When you have nearly 500 players to edit then that takes awhile and I just don't know if I have the patience for this...........sheeew! I mean, thats 42 minutes of just waiting for the player to pop up so you can begin to change the numbers. This is why the PC version is so much easier since someone can just create an editor that takes little or no time to load and it's all right there in front of you. Maybe I should just wait and pick up the PC version to do all of this?
If anyone knows how to create an editor that could be used with Action Replay saves on the XBOX version, please speak now. That would really solve some big issues.
Thanks, just had to blow off some steam. Any help and imput would be appreciated.NFL: Tennessee Titans

Re: Jpup's NBA Live 2005 Rosters for XBOX Version 1 WIP
EA did screw up on the ratings, but not all of them. They need a good job with the scoring ratings (FG, 3pt, FT) and did really well on some of rebounding and blocking. Its like they put in a half-*** job and quit half way through the ratings, and then have a program on one of their computers that just randomly put in numbers but they had a formula that would atleast try to give off the right ratings.
As for editor, I don't know of any but look out for one, I'm pretty sure since EA screwed up on the ratings so bad, somone like Flyin Flinn who made the NFL 2k5 editor would make one for Live that we can use with our XBOX.Michael Riga - OS's unoffical MacAddict

Here are my v1.1 rosters that are current as of 10-18-04. The depth charts are current as of 10-8-04. This set does not have any player ratings adjusted, those will come eventually. These are just an update from v1.
Player numbers and posistions are also fixed for v1.1. Hope you enjoy them.NFL: Tennessee Titans
