If ID 2004 added a "Freestyle control" like crossover system, would it be a good or bad idea? I love the game, but I think the crossovers are on the weak side.

It would be a great idea, although, that's not exactly where the real problem lies. The D needs to play a bit more aggressively and be willing to foul more. The D should sacrifice their bodies more resulting in more blocking/charging fouls. -

Yeah, if you could do all those moves in Live but 80% of the time the defense would stay in front of you like ID does already it would be no question who's #1. In ID the defense helps out if you blow past your first defender so I think it would be off the chain! Right now there's say about 5 different crossovers in ID, most of the time it's that behind the back stuff that works rarely.Comment

Another thing that ID 2003's missing is offensive and defensive awareness ratings. Without this, players just always move without the ball, they're constantly cutting and stuff, and the game never tends to play like a one-on-one game with very little ball movement. There are a lot of NBA games like this, and ID 2003 needs to get this done as well. Especially for teams that are on the second game of a back-to-back schedule. There should be more isolation plays run and stuff. Right now, the game plays a lot like the Kings style of offense.Comment

NOOOOO!!!! i would hate to see freestyle in ID`04!!!!!
right now the one on one moves are good enough. allthough i would like to see jab step become more effective! if you could drive out of a jab step it would make jabbing more effective. but right now when you do a jab step you can`t drive out of it.
in other words, you have to wait for the animation to stop before you can drive.
and i actually like the crossovers because they require more timing than they do in other BB games. i like this about ID!!! you can`t get to the rim everytime you do a crossover or spin move!
i think the moves are perfect with the exception of jab step.Comment

I like the defensive freestyle moves in NBA Live 2003. That's how players really play defense in the NBA anyway. It's the right way to play defense, it's just a lot harder to pull off in the game. And the freestyle moves in the post are excellent as well. There is a LOT to like about the freestyle control in Live 2003, it just needs to be refined.Comment
