I remember the push/tackle button on defense. With the turbo button you could take guys out all over the place. It was crazy. Especially in 2 player.

I think the refs hardly called fouls on Rookie level. And I think there was a setting that turned off foul calls altogether.

    Extremely arcade, extremely fun.

And, yeah...I am right about where you are. I just can't seem to get into 2K9.

Put it back in on the weekend...within an hour, it was back out and put up on my shelf.
Glad to know that I am not the only one.

I loved shoving people all over. That was a feature in all NBA Live games up to 98. They finally removed it in 99, when they built a new engine.

As for this year, I keep alternating between 2K and Live because both of them do things I like, especially after all the sliders and, in 2K's case, rosters.

However, Live does one thing that REALLY stands out. It rewards good basketball, both on defense and on offense. 2K feels way too random, and the games look scripted. When the CPU decides I'm not winning the game, loving Kobe won't hit anything if his life depended on it. I don't see that kind of cheating in Live, and I always feel like I'm playing a fair game of basketball.

Yeah, that was fun. It was like a more polished Arch-Rivals.
