Honestly monk, this is the first time that I think we've ever disagreed on anything. After playing the demo, I'm just honestly not feeling it whatsoever. If that gameplay is "near" the same as the retail version, then it's not too big of a leap from last year. Don't get me wrong, it's a definite improvement, and some of the things that we've needed have been improved upon...but overall, I feel like it's more of the same. I'm getting it... and I think it does warrant a purchase as it's still a very playable title though.

I played the demo for the vast majority of the evening, and then went back to Live, and the controls were WAY off, when I went back. I will have to have one and ONLY one title to play for a while. It took me 2 full demo games of Live to get back to my fluent stick skill ways.

Overall, I don't think you can go wrong this year, but myself, I have a big time feeling that Live will be getting the most of my time this year.

But I definitely agree, you can't switch back and forth. WAY too different feeling.

Yeah, I based my 2K will be special comments off the Draft Combine...but I am not so sure after watching the NBA 2K10 vids and hearing comments from fellas like you whose opinion I value about the demo...

The vids look good, but definitely not great / not a big improvement.

I'll reserve judgement until I play it...but your feedback and some of the other long termers has me worried.

I have been trying to go between the DC and the Live demo...and it's just killing my control. Like you, it takes me a few games just to get flowing again. I am going to go with one game and play that predominantly.

I am really happy / impressed with where LIVE is at right now...I will be playing that game mainly unless 2K10 comes out with something extra. One thing I won't be doing this season is wasting time on sliders.

LIVE 10 is pretty much playable out of the box...

I am not wasting time with 2K if it means downloading 20 different slider sets that each fix one thing / stuff up another.

I did that last year and it was almost All Star break when I finally started my Association.

Yeah, I just don't have the time this season to waste time on sliders / roster edits / waiting for patches.

I want to play a couple of weeks of fun games to learn to run my offense / playbook...and then start my season around the time the real NBA season starts. Play it through and enjoy it.

If 2K requires massive edits / sliders / patching (again)...I'm going to give it a miss. Hopefully that's not the case. The Draft Combine was great.

Yeah, I know that we normally always agree on each game, as we're looking for the same things year in, year out. I think this year is the year that we finally get at least 1 game that we don't have to tweak like crazy.

As far as 2k10 goes, I'm going to give it a fair shake, and if I can find it first, then that'll be the first game that I pick up. I'm hopefully going to end up with one game or the other tomorrow. I'm hoping Live, because right now, that's the game that I have a LOT of faith in.

I'm through with having to tweak, tweak, tweak, just to get a decent playing game. If it doesn't play a great game of bball with a minor tweak here and there, then it's not getting any spin this year.

Playing the 2k demo earlier today, it was like the and 1 tour bus going through my family room. Alley oops, etc were coming out in full force. It was pitiful. I saw some REALLY good things out of it, that I really enjoyed. But I have the feeling that I'm going to get one game to do me throughout the season, or at least til the AS break. If at that time, things are getting old, then I'll pick the other title up for a breath of fresh air.

It just depends on what you're looking for. I see a lot that I like out of 2k this year, but I know that Live is absolutely bringing it. If the retail game is a step above the demo, then I'll be a happy camper.

Looks that way to me.....

Live 10 might play better out the box but 2K10 has a sick CPU AI in their game.

If i have to tweak 2K10 for about 2 weeks then so be it because their CPU players look like they bring it

Live CPU players will bore me in a month just by looking at the videos of the final version today.

That' a huge change for me because i'm huge Live fan but hey 2K10 has the most realistic looking AI Players i've ever seen on the floor.
