Stuff From Live 10 That U Would Like To Be In 2K10

No i'm not a Live fanboy and no i don't have the full game of both, but there are a couple of things from Live that i think 2K should consider that will make it an even better game. This is coming from what i've seen from the NBA Live 10 Demo and from what i have not seen in any of the recent 2K videos that has been posted.

    • Playoff and Finals Atmosphere

    • When sprinting down court, player switch ball between hands. Makes it look more realistic (Looks great on fast break plays).

    • When on defense u can choose whether to put you hand up to contest the shot (by tapping "Y" lightly) or jump up completely for the block (by pressing "Y"). It's a good addition for users just in case they're not sure if they want to jump for the block and risk getting penalize for it.

    • Fighting for the rebound in Live just looks more realistic. How they jump for ball, tipping it to themselves, etc.

    • If you happen to pump fake the ball after already dribbling and seem to be stuck on where to pass it to, the defender will crowd around you to try and force the ball over.

    • When attacking the basket, you can change direction of where you want to lay it up by flicking the left stick in the direction you would like to lay it up.

    • Dynamic Passing: Able to pass the ball on the fly (Ex:You can drive in one direction but can throw a pass in a completely different direction.) Think it's great for PG's.

    • Better traffic recognition. When attacking the basket it just has better contact connection with the opponent. Also when trying to attack the basket and defender is in front, the ballhander don't just throw up hook shots all the time *cough* #@2K *cough*. Bad part about this in Live though is that it sometimes draws many fouls even when not intending to. Gets irritating sometimes.

    • Diff. Bench Warm-Up Combination (I know it's real minor). Some players wear full warm-ups while others just wear the top part of their warm-ups and shorts. Just brings lil more realism. No biggie tho.

Everything else i think 2K10 has over Live 10 (Including pre-game rituals, arena sounds, presentation, graphics, and gameplay). Live is still just a lil too arcadey for me. But some expects of Live i have listed above would just make 2k the perfect game imo. So overall 2K > Live.

Some of the things you listed are already in 2K9 and will probably be in 2K10 (you can put your hands up without jumping, tipping the ball was in 2K3, I think, and it was so annoying for me...and the shot stick does give you control where to lay it up...etc.). Anyway, I don't really want to put everything from one game into another game, because it's good to have 2 different games. If we put everything Live has in 2K or vice versa, what do we need 2 games for?

The biggest thing is momentum and the footwork on jumpshots. I can run around the court all day in the Live demo just shooting those fadeways, leaners, drifters etc with Kobe and have a huge grin on my face because it looks and feels so great. Esp with 2K's knack for animations, I can only imagine how good it'd look in 2K11.

I'm not sure where Live stands in this regard right now, but I know in like. . .2005 they had nearly every retro I could ever think of. I loved that. Further, they appeared to have oodles of every kind of accessory with custom coloring to boot. Of course, they've also always had a plethora of shoes - including retro Jordans. I wish all of that was in 2K.
