Last year the EA folks on this board wrote (paraphrasing) "Stop mentioning sim stats, they won't be fixed this year but I guarantee they will be fixed for 2010 my man."

Now they're apologizing, stating they tuned them (LBJ averaging 24 PPG in a simmed season isn't tuned to the NBA) while promising they will be fixed for 2011.

I wish they would at least give people a tool that would let them tune the stats themselves. Maybe if 100,000 consumers tried to tune the sim stats, we'd get something better.

Looks goofy considering you'll see the playoffs logo on the court. I know what you're getting at, but it just doesn't work because of this.

I can't believe this thread hasn't been moved earlier. You guys can duke out the vs. posts in the Basketball Other forum.

I did not see anyone from EA mention simmed stats will be patched. In general I would not make assumptions about what will be patched and what won't be. Even if they say something will be patched I wouldn't assume anything until I actually d/l and see it with my own eyes.

Nowadays there is too much talk about patching this and patching that, but realistically there is no way they will be patching everything you would want fixed. Also patches can take a while to be released because of the process.

I dunno how EA works, but from what I remember NBA 2k releases one patch a year.

Agree with you wholeheartedly on the communication thing. People who frequent the internet/message boards are probably a very small percentage of people who buy the game. 2k does not respect that group much at all, while EA right now does.

i like that about EA this year they seem to be working hard to see what there customers say and trying to fix it.

but 2k always had been doing this before also

live seems like a good game but seems to be fixed another year to make it really good.... i hear people complaining about stats in franchise, late game AI, fast breaks, etc

EA games always do whatever they do really well. But they neglect a lot of aspects and whatever they don't focus on is horrible.

2k seems to do a lot of things average or good. The flaws in 2k games are flaws but the game is just more complete.

I am a PC gamer so I go with 2k because I have to. But whatever game you pick I am sure you will enjoy and hate about equally. Both games appear to be extremely good and that is all we can ask for. Good luck!

What I've been trying to figure out for the longest is why can't a person give praise to one game without ridiculing the other. It really is getting kinda sad but whatever. I think both games are good enough to make the other stay on top of their game. With that being said OP, if you are asking someone to "push" you over the fence, I'm sure you were probably going with Live anyway. Otherwise, rent them both. I've noticed that Blockbuster has been real good about making sure their new releases are on the shelf early Tuesday so I would suggest that.

Oops, forgot about the Playoff logos on the court. I thought "Playoff Atmosphere" was only in regards to the intensity of the crowd.

Don't take things too far. This wasn't me who did this. But, I posted it just to show the graphics, and fluid animations. It's a highlight. Geez.
