Seems like we've got a million "2K10 or LIVE10" threads...

Anyone enjoying both?

Last season, I'd put 2K9 in and almost rip the disk out half an hour later and throw the thing out of my window.

Then I'd put LIVE in and have a bit fun...whilst trying not to laugh at some of the crap happening on the screen.

This season, I play one...and completely enjoy it.

Pop the other in...and also have a good, pretty realistic game.

I played the Jazz v Suns in 2K10 and it was one of the best games I've had for ages. Played the same two teams in LIVE 10 and it was also a hell of a lot of fun.

Two very good games...where's the problem?

I'm sure I would enjoy Live as well, but I don't really see the need for me to have two NBA games. Plus, if NCAA Basketball plays like Live, but college basketball... then I'll just stick with 2K.

I must say, I am still tempted to give Live a chance. I keep reading impressions and I hear something and I wish 2K had it... so I keep thinking, what if I like Live more?

I think I may rent Live. I dunno...too much.

Yep, I'm getting work in on both games. Right now it's mostly My Player and Team-Up in 2K, but I'm enjoying both modes despite their laundry list of issues. The game is fun, I just complain more than most since I was also not a fan of 2K9 and it seems too similar many times. It's a great game, but it'll get cleaned up a lot by the patch and I'll probably play it more.

But yeah, I'm definitely enjoying both games. They both have their appeal and areas where they excel and they both have plenty of issues (Live less so IMO, mainly because there are less actual glitches and the basic stuff is tighter to me), so it's basically a preference thing for me. If I feel like popping in a game and just playing, it'll be 2K and probably My Player, if I want to play someone online, run OTP (since it's reliable in Live), or play a normal game offline, it's Live. Hopefully both games improve markedly after the patch -- I'll be in heaven until next October if so.

Once you get past the "WTF" moments in both games, they're both great games. Best year to be a video game bball fan.

Both games all day, every day. Really waiting on the patches before I can bust them both wide open. Maybe I will give the online matches a try, but I'm really old school and I like playing face-to-face.

Pretty much just playing Live right now but, when I do pop in 2K I see things I really am going to enjoy after the patch is released and I start my season.

Live is beautiful in regards to the halfcourt game but, over the long haul I think 2k will be my game for season mode.

You really 'feel' the difference in team styles in 2k alot more IMO.

Right now though, I can't stop playing Live.

Definately a good year for basketball fans.

Enjoying both. Played Live a good bit when I first picked it up, then started going back and forth between the two, now I'm on a 2K binge. I got extremely frustrated one game with Live where the cpu had like 22 second chance points. I was literally yelling to the cpu to kick the damn ball out sometimes. 2K still gives me issues with overall movement, and just all the annoying little glitches that'll hopefully be ironed out with the patch.

2K'll probably get most of my time because of the Vets league but Live provides a very nice alternative when I feel like switching it up. Good year indeed.

After a solid week with them both...I find that I am enjoying 2K more and more. I am seeing new things every game, new animations, hearing new commentary.

LIVE...hmmmmmmm...it's hit a massive wall. I hope the patch improves it because there's some things you see 'every' game that get really, really old fast.

2K for season play....so much depth

Live for one off games...and maybe the dynamic season if it's done really well.

I play Live when I want a strategic sim, and 2k when I want to run around dunking for the fun of it.

You must have some seriously messed up sliders Born. I know you're not liking 2K10...but "dunking for the fun of it" is flat out not true with any half intelligent set of sliders.

I don't play with sliders. I tried one game with Pared's sliders, but I could still dunk with the PnR whenever I wanted, or just push it up court for a lead pass dunk.

Absolutely...i could also.

2K10 needs some tweaks. There's some good SIM sets on 2K share, so it doesn't take long to d/l them.

IMO...if you're not going to bother using sliders, 2K10 isn't really worth persevering with. Return it if you can as it doesn't play a great game out of the box.

If I recall correctly, you really liked NBA 2K9 though? 10 is much, much better with sliders than 2K9.

Well you can't use sliders in My Player mode, so it's not really a choice of mine. Believe me, if I could lower the shooting, I would.

I liked 2k9 head to head against other sim opponents. Thought it was unplayable vs. CPU on default. BL's sliders made it playable, but it wasn't a sim. It was just a fun arcadey romp through a basketball playland, like 2k10.
