Live finally gets a better score than 2k10

Finally a review I agree with. Gamespot.
What this fast-paced basketball game lacks in depth, it makes up for in fun.

Wow that's pretty interesting. They were pretty hard on 2K. But I have to say, I agree with a lot of their complaints, especially the fact that too many glitches simply take the fun out of the game. What good are great features if they keep failing on you? It's always been a mystery to me why everyone keeps ignoring the huge glitches in the game (especially online) and praises the features that sometimes work.

Live has some flaws to be sure, but they deliver on the things they say they will. If you promise me A and B, deliver A and B. Don't promise me A, B, C and D and deliver A sometimes, B sometimes, C never, D in a patch...

The Gamespot review on NBA Live 10 lost all its credibility when it read: You won't change the way you play digital basketball playing this.

        Are you kidding me?

This game has completely changed the way I play video basketball.

Sportsreviews by the major video game sites are horrible.

They come out too soon, dont go into in-depth reviews of dynasty/legacy/season mode, and are reviewed by people who don't follow sports.

I agree. Most of the game sites don't even mention most of the glitches that we speak about on OS. Makes you feel like they spent 15 minutes playing the game before writing the review. When it comes down to it, it's really all based on opinion.

I don't think the problem is it being too easy to get into the paint in 2k. My problem is that players are able to score too easily once they get there. Only the most skilled players can finish in the land of the giants and even they don't always finish with high percentages. 2k needs to reflect that better imo.

Watch the NBA and you will see that teams can't consistently keep Lebron, Kobe, Wade, etc. out of the paint in real life imo when they have a mind to get there. The problem is that defenders in the paint do not disturb shots enough. Players shoot over 2-3 defenders with too high a success rate (even some scrub big men/players). There should also be more deflections (not neccessarily always equaling turnovers) when passing the ball into traffic. Two things that Live does fairly well.

Does anyone know if 2k has a shot in traffic rating for individual players off hand? I'd be curious to know where some of these players have that rating at.

EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.

I completely disagree with Gamespot. NBA 2K10 should be higher than NBA Live 10. I owned Live 10 and sold it and bought NBA 2K10. IMO opinion after playing both games 2K10 is the better game and should be higher rated than Live. In my books Live 10 is a 7.5 and 2K10 is an 8 (with all the bugs and glitches.) If 2K fixes all the bugs that has plagued 2K10 in their next patch including high FG% then it could be an 8.5 or 9 in my books.
