Well from a lot of standpoints it is.

Lets compare some of these features side by side or neck to neck.

Faces

2k = sliders, blush, hair and facial hair options.
(problem though it's against around 80 of the same generic faces that you just have to alter a tad bit)

10 = 6 to 8 tone levels and about 200 to 300 faces and hair style per skintone.

Bodies

2k = skinny, thick, athletic, muscles, and normal

10 = thin, skinny, thick, heavy, muscles and normal

Shoes

2k = basic school shoes and generic white and two tone generics.

10 = All name brands and any colors can be placed on any player. (They have unlimited variations)

tattoo's

2k = place them on all players

10 = more placement areas, but only on created players not presets.

Shot styles

2k wins this, I won't even bother with NCAA BB 10.

Stadiums

2k doesn't win this, the option is there, but its with many glitches, from removing schools names and jerseys, to disappearing student sections. So it's flawed and never will work.

Extras

2k has 2kshare, shrine for unlocking teams and stadiums, basic tournaments, open and closed legacy and more.

10 = every style of tournament in the NCAA, better online, ea sports world, EA locker sharing, CBS and ESPN integration, pre game shoot around and practice, edit school streets and facilities in Dynasty, Coaches emails from every one around the NCAA, recruiting, and more. Better scheduling system. And RPI updated daily to weekly.

I give 2k8 many props, as I am enjoying it, but a lot of things are really better custom wise and feature wise.

I do not like the face customization though in CH2k8 but thats not me supporting what NCAA 10 has in faces either. I always wondered why Ea couldn't utilize their face creator in fifa or even tiger (Playa!) Either way player models are better in NCAA to me overall as ch2k8 is too rounded even though the nba game of 2ksports has them utterly right aside from some muscle arm issues...

Dribbling goes to ncaa hands down and i actually "like" the fact that u can dribble in ncaa anyway you want almost as opposed to how I do not like it in the real nba live 10 game...


Yes stadiums are better but no love for the smaller schools though like there were in ch2k8.

Overall though NCAA is better presentation wise and is the closest feeling I get to a real college broadcast in a game I hope ncaa fottball follows suits next year

This assessment is probably going to make me pick up the game tomorrow. What schools/Conferences are missing?

EA removed the classic teams this year, there aren't any in '10 unfortunately. They were horribly inaccurate in the previous versions of the game anyway.

That's too bad. With 2K's college basketball games, I found that the historic teams often got as much playing time, if not more than the current rosters in my regard. I loved them. 1989 Michigan, 1993 Michigan, 2000 Michigan State. . .loved 'em all. Further, I loved how they were fully editable, so I could give Glen Rice his t-shirt, short shorts and knee pads to make him look authentic.

More authentic arenas (some low-major arenas are amazing)

I went to school at UNF (University of North Florida) who had just become eligible for the NCAA tournament THIS year. They were still in their Div 1 transitional period when CH2K8 came out so I didn't even expect them to be in the game. Not only were they in the game, but the accuracy of the UNF Arena was absolutely amazing! I was so pumped at how the arena wasn't just some 'generic' arena and they actually made an attempt to replicate UNF Arena! UNF! When I went to school there years ago, I was in that gym almost every single day....so just imagine my excitement to see it replicated in the game. They even had the writings on the wall behind the North basket! Seriously, 2K got all my respect for doing that for a team that wasn't even a fully-fledged D-1 school yet at that time. NCAA 10 doesn't even have the UNF team in there yet, let alone the arena .

CH2k8 is still a great game and I will not even think of parting with it. However I enjoy NCAA 10 so freaking much, I have not had the freeze issue yet but, the game flows so much w/ the presentation there is just a feeling I get playing it that I don't get with CH2k8

Were can you practice? I agree with the shoot around thing but, am I missing something? Is there some sort of team practice feature I'm missing?

You're not missing anything, I guess Shadows means practice shooting. There is not team practice option.

I thought so but, I haven't finished a dynasty or gotten any further than a couple of games so I was unsure.

Why did you start the thread then? You asked for everyones opinion and they game them to you. If you already felt 2k8 was the better game why did you ask our opinions on whether you should get the game or not. Just a little confused.

Another customization feature that 2K8 had that was pretty fun to mess with was the create a chant feature. You can get pretty creative with that and add a bit more life to your games.

I did not have the game yet. But after getting the game I then soon found my own answer...even though most people were already telling me.
