Re: I\'m getting frustrated (I suck)

My biggest problem so far is that I am shooting between 30%-38%. I can hold the CPU to 44%-50% by playing defense off the ball.

The problem is I seem to be off on my shots for some reasons. I go to practice and shoot good shots, but they aren't falling during the game and it gets frustrating.

Now don't get me wrong, I still love ID, I'm just frustrated with my shooting. I keep using different teams playing in exhibition, so it may be a case of using one team and learning their plays better.

Re: I\'m getting frustrated (I suck)

      wow...thanks for all the ideas.

I actually went and re-purchased my traded in version of NBA Live 04

I'll keep it for it's own sake to have around as it does some good stuff too.

I played a couple of games of Live to remember what I was missing and then went back to ID.

I like ID a lot but REALLY wish it had two shot buttons.

I definitely need to learn to use the plays and realize that I just can not force my way to the hoop like I can in Live. I am having a blast passing and finding the open guy and learning to use the teams strengths definitely helps.

I am learning how to play D but it still frustrates me when one of my guys gets caught up inside and leaves someone open for a 3. I'm learning to recover and get a hand in his face.

Also the advanced post moves help a lot as I can go inside and work those players that have an inside game.I also started playing with the Mavs in exhibition against some lesser teams to get the hang of it and I started to get in a rhythm and was able to pull out a couple of wins.

the game plays so realistically with the runs and comebacks and hot and cold streaks. Also I'm finding that timeouts and adjustments CAN stop some of the runs.

      Awesome.

I've been playing this so much that I just embarrassed myself in the OS Links golf tourney.

Thanks....oh when I said "sweetspot" I didn't mean shortcuts or easy plays I meant a time when you feel that you have a handle on the game in all aspects and that determining whether you win is up to how you play.

At the time I posted that it felt like too many things were happening in the game that were out of my control and it felt clunky and forced.

The better I get the more natural the game seems to feel.

      thanks

That's good to hear Klocker2! That's what it really takes when playing ID...paitence! You give it time and learn your teams plays then you will start to get a pretty good handle on things!

One thing you might want to try is setting your player switching to manual, if you haven't tried this already! With this setting you really get a good idea of just how great the gameplay of ID really is. This is how I like playing the game, because this way I can really involve myself in the gameplay by setting picks with the man I'm controling for a cpu teammate, so he can get to the basket to score. This setting also allows you to see, and be involved in developing plays. Your teammates will automatically take open shots, or pass the ball around until a shot opens up. This way you can take control of any player on your team, or let the cpu control the actions of your teammates! Just give this a try if you haven't already...you might like it!

                  Cool HP.

                  I'll give that a try.
