One of Inside Drives biggest flaws is hurting the roster updates.....

    POOR SUBSITUTION AI!

U have to manually subsitute the appropriate starters during season play if u want accurate starting lineups, because the cpu controlled teams will randomly adjust the new downloaded rosters by switching players with different skill and position sets before the game starts. for example....

-Dwayne Wade starts for the heat with the downloaded rosters but, the cpu is intent on having Rafer Alston as the starting PG.

-Antwawn Jamison comes off the bench for the Mavericks with the new downloaded rosters but, when u play the them in season mode against the cpu he starts!

I only noticed the cpu doing this in season mode, in single player games the cpu leaves the new downloaded rosters alone

It's very tedious and time consuming to change the lineups at the team control screen before each SEASON game. I thought this was the purpose for the new downloaded rosters from XBOX Live! I hope high voltage works on this and get the substitution patterns right for both in game AI and issues like this with the XBOX LIVE roster updates for Drive 2005. On-court gameplay AI is the most important element in a simulation b-ball game but they (High Voltage) needs to step up a few other aspects of this game (graphics, subsitution AI,better atmoshere etc.) to make it a COMPLETE simulation...

At the risk of being flammed....playing online is light years ahead of playing the cpu.
I can't even think of playing the corny *** AI when I know that there is someone out there waiting to be spanked! Try going online, man, I almost sure you'll never go back to solo playing!

I love playing online also, don't get me wrong. But, whenever i go online i never find anyone in the all-star lobby! Everyone sits in the lower level lobbies and i hate playing humans on anything other than the highest difficulty. I'll keep trying but, i have had a very hard time trying to find a good game on XBOX LIVE on the allstar skill level. Human vs. Human play has always been my preference but unlike ESPN NBA the ID lobbies r often empty, maybe my timing is off!

-by the way my gamertag is EDUBB i only play on allstar...

Wow, so the roster updates don't fix the substitutions? That's disappointing. But you gotta figure, during a season, there is no way that the AI's substitution patterns will completely correlate with the real thing anyway. It's not supposed to, really. Different players will do better than others, you just have to accept the fact it's not going to parallel reality.

I actually like the patterns. The CPU starts who they think will perform best. I have had them leave in the 6 man for a long time if hes doing good. Ive seen James put in at SF after starting the game at PG. They just try to put out the best lineup they think they have. The NBA is pretty famous for shuffling lineups, and the game does too.

Anyway, if you dont like they way they do that, just select everyteam as USER controlled at the strat of season, then just go to the calendar of the team you want and just play their games. You can then make the lineup changes that the NBA does, and dont have to [censored you naughty boy] your pants.

                      Does that help

I don't think I mind the actual opposing AI's subs. It's your own substitution patters that just suck. I mean the AI handling your substitution patterns. There's no way I should be seeing clarence Weatherspoon as SG or PG for instance. Yet I'll see him on the court handling the ball.
