See i completely disagree with that offline is the best aspect. Especially with this game.

This game was meant to be head to head versus human competition. With XSN and the evolution of online leagues people will no longer want to play offline in a 4-5 years.

I would rather play a human opponnent any day. Especially if they play a realistic side of basketball and want to have fun with the game. That is what I have found so far online with this game and i have been very satisfied.

    Each their own...

Wow, that is SO not true. Talk about an overexaggeration. The future of gaming isn't entirely multiplayer. For one thing, there will always be gamers such as myself who would rather play singleplayer rather than multiplayer. I enjoy a multiplayer game every now and then, but there's no way you can predict the kind of gaming experience you'll have online. Could be good or could be very bad. If a sports game were multiplayer only, there's definitely no way I would ever consider it.

Same here. Offline will ALWAYS be a must with online a good option.

I agree with the sentiment that on-line play is not going to totally take over the single player experience. Sometimes you have a good game on-line and sometimes it's a very bad experience either because of lag, or playing a cheezy player. At least with the single player you can set it up how you want it, and you know what you are going to get.

Playing in a league on-line sounds good on the surface, and will be fun, but it is also very restricting as far as when you have to play your game. Most of our schedules each day vary, so it's hard to know when you'd be able to play the other person. Besides, I get a lot more satisfaction with playing in a league with my friends I hang out with during the week, than I do with someone who is simply on my "Friends" list.

On-line is certainly a fun component, but I don't think we'll ever see a total deviation from the single player experience and the ability to play in a multiplayer league that isn't on Live.

i post to you and neo (as you responded to back up neo's post). multiplayer does not mean online. online is a great way to get more multiplayer games in but IMO multiplayer always has been and always will be more fun than single player. playing random people online is far from the only aspect of multiplayer gaming. how well this game plays online or off in multiplayer, i have no idea but i agree that there's nothing better than a head to head game with a solid human opponent when the game is running as smooth as can be. As for the Friends list comment, I've been playing games online now for I guess over 3 years starting with the DC and I can honestly say that many people that I only know through forums and my Friend list ARE now my friends. We can't go to the bar and grab a beer but we talk about the same things as we play or over instant messenger, etc.
