Great post, ID is king once again, the sad thing is, only a few people know about it. (in the grand scheme) Id be suprised if it got 5-10 % of the market. Hoepfully they dont ever shelve it.

I agree wholeheartedly, and I've been taking my time between the games. I'd rate ESPN second, although others may disagree. The ONLY problem I noted with ID is that it is so difficult to stick to your man on defense. When I crouch, the CPU player blows past me. I also don't have enough time to come out of the crouch to attempt a block. Any one with suggestions on how to play better D? Other than that, I can guarantee you that everything Monkey said is true. This game is a true sim with the best gameplay.

I lowered the cpu jukes to 1 and it has helped me out alot.

I agree Monkey. Im 30 years old and havent played a good bball game in a long time. Im pretty much a Madden junky, but have been looking for a good bball game. Ive played them all but always end up going back to playing Madden because I lose interest. This game has made Madden collect dust if that tells you anything.. It still has room for improvement though. I still want more moves and a better franchise mode. Other then that this game is the shiz.

I've yet to lose a single game against the CPU on all-star using the Mavs.

Anyway, here's how to play D.
1. Set the pressure to High all the time
2. Set One-on-one to "off-hand". Dont use Straight Up.
3. Set a taller player against the opposing team's star player.
e.g. If Webber is 6'10", set a 7' guy against him.
Players have a tougher time shooting against a taller defender.
4. Always use Man-to-man, you get killed on Zone . . .
5. Control the player who marks the worst player on the opposing team. This way, you can always go and double-team the star player to make him pass the ball.
6. Use the Center to help out and close out the lane and block shots.

Why the hell did I get ESPN Basketball. Sega has disappointed me since 2k2 until now. I guess NBA2k1 captured my heart and I just stuck with the series. Next year it's either Live or ID. ID was nice last year. I didn't get 2k3 last year, instead I got ID and Live. I don't have the money anymore to spend on games like I used to. I'm only getting 1 basketball, football and baseball game, and maybe a hockey. Enough with having 2 of each sport.
