Re: My review : best sim ever

Why the hell did I get ESPN Basketball. Sega has disappointed me since 2k2 until now. I guess NBA2k1 captured my heart and I just stuck with the series. Next year it's either Live or ID. ID was nice last year. I didn't get 2k3 last year, instead I got ID and Live. I don't have the money anymore to spend on games like I used to. I'm only getting 1 basketball, football and baseball game, and maybe a hockey. Enough with having 2 of each sport.

Why couldn't I have gotten a damn X-box? Why does Inside Drive have to be only on X-Box. ESPN is great as it is, and I love it, but I can't play it because once again my PS2 got messed up, so I have to wait 2 more weeks. Hearing all of this great "sim" stuff about ID makes me want to pick up an X-Box.

I, for one, agree that ID is awesome if you like a realistic sim. Plays so great.

Re: My review : best sim ever

                  Great post as usual, Monk..

                  I got three problems.

                  1. The lack of moves/options kill the one-on-one game, making isolations pretty boring. No drama. The post game also seems ho-hum after Live.

2.The CPU randomly draws and kicks a little too frequently. You might see the CPU dash to the middle of the key and kick it back out 4 or 5 times in a possesion. Like the over-quick outlet pass in Live, this needs tweaking.

                  3. ID '02 had about a hundred real NBA players on the FA list. I thought this was awesome. It was packed with fringe players like Doug Overton and Robert Pack. This year's FA list is ABSURD. There are tons of reviewers and industry folks on there that I could give a shyt less about. Unbelievable. I had to create 22 players to correct my rosters, some of whom were on the same team last year!(Dion Glover, Reggie Evans..)Poor, poor design choice.

Other than thos minor gripes, I agree whleheartedly with the Monk-man's assessment..

McCoy you wouldn't have that problem if you had Live, you can upload current rosters that include the likes of Reggie Evans.

I for one like the iso moves, the ones on Live are too effective. It becomes more of a thinking game with the way ID is set up versus Live.

I love the moves in Live. However, the one things I truly wish ID could have is Live's defense. Well, at least the pressure in the backcourt, the way the PG steadily works it up the court or a center or some player walks up the court with the PG in case the PG is trapped, so he can be passed the ball. Stuff like that. As well as the animations, which Live excels at, IMHO.
