Thanks for the reply Admiral. I will pick this up sometime this week. Hopefully I will fall in love with it like the rest of you have. I'm dying to find an enjoyable bball game this year.

You, my friend are in for the surprise of your life. If you're new to the series, prepared to be blown away. This is b-ball gameplay done right.

I agree with ohiost... the game last year was far more enjoyable for me...graphics and gameplay. I don't like how I cant work on the attributes ie...how much a guy shoots inside vs. outside, settings that were there last year but gone this year, as well as some of the animations are just ridiculously bad....some of the overly exaggerated dunks and double pumps are pretty bad too....I cant let the total control I have with live go this year.

Huh? Those attributes are still there. You can still edit them, so I don't know what you're talking about. IMHO, ID 2004 is way better than ID 2003 simply because they fixed the rebounding and free throw problem. They still need to improve the foul system and have fouls like blocks and charges in the paint called, because I do see some moves where a dunker will forcefully go into the paint and bowl over people and yet no blocking or charge foul will be called.

Admittedly, the graphics in some respects are better in ID 2003 than in ID 2004, however, I find it hard to believe anyone could like ID 2003's gameplay over ID 2004.

How does the CPU use star players this year? I'm sick of seeing the CPU jack up three-pointers w/ Kobe, T-MAC, AI, and Pierce. That's one of biggest issues I've had with NBA Live the past couple years. All you have to do is stop the point-guard and you have a great chance of winning the game.

Another thing. Are you guys getting any diversity in your games? In live it seems like its just fastbreak and halfcourt offenses.

Rent it. I think you'll be very surprised. The gameplay is extremely varied. There are stretches where the team goes through a slump, a player goes through a slump, etc. while other games you'll be on fire or whatever. Star players are used incredibly well, and you can always adjust their tendencies to the extent that no other game would let you. If you think a certain player jacks too many 3's all you gotta do is tone that 3-point tendency down. It's that simple.

Yeah for sure. Different gameplay depending on teams and players. Simply superb! You can even make it even more real yourself by editing the player attributes (assuming they work... I turned Shaq's - always shoot hook shots to 100% and put his jumpers to 0% and his first 3 shots were baseline jumpers from about 10 feet... )... but Kobe and other players I edited all seemed to work. Great game, best this year for sure!
