didn't notice you already rented it. Doesn't sound like it was your type of game... Oh well at least you rented it to get your own opinion.

Depends on how you define sim, I guess. If you think freestyle control is sim, then Live is obviously your game. IMHO, it's the AI of ID 2004 that's the standout here, and the fact that each player and each team plays in a distinct manner.
I don't see what problems you're having with defense. There are times when a team will light you up no matter what, and times when your own teammates are exceedingly sluggish in reacting. But that's true about NBA games in real-life as well. You just have to experiment with the different types of defenses that are afforded to you. There are a ton of ways to play defense in this game, though.Comment

Re: Is it that good
After playing most of the day, I am starting to come around. The subtle things are blowing me away. For instance I was playing with the Spurs against the Mavs, Finley pulled up on a 2 on 2 break. I contested the shot so I was thinking my guy would get the board. Well Nowitzki came up with the ball, I was like how the f##k did that happen. Dirk had leveled Bowen to get the ball, no call, but thats part of the real game. I just thought it was cool that they put that in. Also the thing that has really turned it around for me was the camera. I now use the isometric view, its easier for me on D and also I can see the whole court all the time. Once I really get good and figure out the little things that aren't in the manual, this will be the game. I love how you can actually run guys off screens or find them spotting up on the break(depending on the team). One thing though the Mavs didn't shoot that many threes, which was odd. Do you guys set the other teams offensive sets for the cpu, or was that just a odd game?Comment
