Re: Microsoft making a big mistake.....

I was a big fan of ID2002 and 2003, but I felt that the game didn't change enough to warrant a purchase in 2004.

I really did enjoy the game, but Live did make a huge jump from it's arcade days.

I hope that Microsoft doesn't drop the title all together, because with more features and improved gameplay, this game will be in my XBOX in a heartbeat.
"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

The gameplay in ID is far superior to Live. They did make some nice improvements but I kinda doubt that EA will cater to us sim heads with their b-ball title. A mixture of arcade and sim is what we'll always get from EA.

I realize this, but I wanted something different. ID2004 seemed to be exactly like 2003 with some improvements. While Live 2004 was a dramatic change from 2003.

ID is definitely the superior game, but I didn't want to drop another 50 bucks for a game that didn't improve much in the aspects I was hoping it would.

Trust me, sometimes I want to put in ID2003 and play some games.

But I basically pro hopped my way with Tim Thomas to an easy NBA title with the Knicks. You know that aint happening in Inside Drive. It's a real shame there wont be a game next year cause ESPN went to sh** this year.

I read from reviews and such that AI in ID is bad.. and that really takes away from the game. If the game was so much better than the competition it would show. If not in sales, in review scores, or in the praise from gamers like us that live sports games.
