This is a joke right?? The AI is bad. Maybe for someone who wants to play an NBA Jamz type game.

uh, don't believe what you read. Try the game before saying anything. Because the AI in ID is the best in any b-ball game yet. I've tried all of the b-ball games that I can get my hands on, and I OWN ESPN NBA Basketball and Live 2004. They both are inferior products to Inside Drive. Inside Drive does lack the style and presentation of the other games, but the gameplay in it is hands-down the best out of all of the titles available.

As for reviews, just remember that MOST gaming mags are targeted towards the general audience. They only try to review from the perspective of the casual gamer. And in that sense, they fail to give adequate reviews for niche titles, such as an NBA sim.

            I will agree.

The AI in ID is the best in the business.
"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

"You'll not find more penny-wise/pound-foolish behavior than in Major League Baseball." - Rob Neyer

Re: Microsoft making a big mistake.....

Inside Drive without question has the best AI out of all the b-ball titles. However the computer coaching AI and substitution patterns are HORRIBLE! The computer coaches never call timeouts to stop the human controlled teams runs (I've had instances were I score 12-16 unanswered points) and the opposing coach still doesn't call timeout! The computer subs in Guards in to play center or power forward on occassion, and often has players playing out of their real-life position. So, I can see how this game gets complaints about being some what overrated. Alot of these little things in effect take away from the superior gameplay AI this series displays.

Regardless Inside Drive has still been the best sim out there for the last 2 years by a long shot compared to the competition and if they use this time accordingly to shore up the graphics, presentation, comp. coaching AI and such while still using the same gameplay code created by High Voltage, this year off won't hurt them that much. Even if VC comes back with new gameplay AI that resembles anything close to simulation (which i hope they will) and Live continues to expand on 10 man motion cap. It has always been apparent to me that Inside Drive seems to be the title that would be the easier fix as far as simultating the NBA game. So with the competition especially VC seemingly regressing in the gameplay department, Microsoft could shore up the visuals, presentation and such over the next year to pretty much put a strangle hold on the genre as far as producing the best simultation there is.

Microsoft could of made another inside drive this year. All they needed to do was improve the graphics and have better sound. They could of added to the gameplay with some new features. They would of got my money this year.
