Beat South Carolina to open the season, 65-48, in their gym. They shot .264 from the floor to our .432.

Just starting the Big Ten tournament against Illinois in season 6 using a variation of all-American sliders (jdaniels sliders I think). Michigan st and Ohio st. have pretty much dominated the Big Ten over the course of my dynasty because unfortunately the conference has been pretty weak except for one year. Thinking about jumping to a bad Cincinnati team when that job opens to get some competition. Then again I may stay to see if I can get the Bucks past the sweet sixteen for once. Totally addicted.

I just started a career legacy with my alma mater (South Carolina State) using ninjoid's sliders. Leading South Carolina in the first game of the season, 22-12, with 3:43 to go in the first half.

How do you like them overall? I ran some test games in that thread, the results were pretty good but it seemed like teams were balanced out.

They are pretty good but I prefer juk34man's cpu vs. cpu sliders for my coach mode pleasure. I used ninjoid's sliders for several games in my 2k7 legacy but I'm going back to default AC with game speed at 47 like I've done for 95% of the legacy. That just works better for me in 2k7 and juk34man's work well for 2k8.

Hey everyone, I am a coach mode player and love it....It's to bad this is the Last 2K Basketball game for College Basketball. It plays pretty close to like a real coach would have to deal with. I have started with EIU, or Eastern Illinois University. All my players were very young, so I am in year three, and with the mixture of my recruits, it has been nice to see a lot of the players develop into good players as they are all mostly Juniors and Seniors now. One thing, I must say is that it plays realistically as when it comes to leadership and game experience. I see my team pull out close games now...I am sure everyone knows this already, and I am glad I found a forum that has others playing it as well...I look forward to talking about the coach mode more often now!!!

There is an option in the Coach Setting screen, but if you don't call a play they will usually run a play.

Hey Grismosw, I had lived in Findlay for 20 years and am in North Carolina now, hope its treating ya well, Yes you can call your own plays.

There is an option in the Coach Setting screen, but if you don't call a play they will usually run a play.

In the coach settings screen all I see is 'show user', 'show all' and 'off'. I was thinking that was just to show the play that was called...not to tell the cpu not to call a play. So with 'show user' a box is only displayed when I manually call a play but they will still call a play on their own that won't be displayed. With 'show all' both user and cpu called plays will be displayed and with 'off' no box will display when either I or my PG calls a play. But, the cpu will still call a play. I was looking for a way to have them not do that. It's cool if I can't turn it off though because that's how I played 2K7...letting my PG 'run the offense'.

As far as sliders go, it's early but I think I'm going with default all-conference just like I did with 2K7. Makes sense to me to play coach mode on the middle difficulty.

What do you guys do in a situation where you're down by 2-3 possessions with a minute left in the game, and you want you're guys to shoot quick.

I don't know how many times this happens, my guys make a great defensive stop - being down like 5 points with 40 seconds left, and then go down to the other end and dribble around for 30 seconds.

How do I get my guys to play with a sense of urgency when time is an issue.

I don't know how many times this happens, my guys make a great defensive stop - being down like 5 points with 40 seconds left, and then go down to the other end and dribble around for 30 seconds.

How do I get my guys to play with a sense of urgency when time is an issue.

I rarely play coach mode but me watching the cpu play I've notice them increasing/decreasing the game tempo throughout the game so u can try that and also call for some quick shot plays or create some your self : )

Hello everyone I'm new to this forum and I just got College Hoops 2K8 (PS2). Anyways, I would like to use coach mode but everytime I use it I can't use any plays (I press the directional buttons), can anyone help?

easy..

call the simplest of plays

a pick and roll two results will happen..

either the guard will shoot or more often.. the Forward will get the ball and lay it up, dunk it, get it blocked or get fouled..

but I LOVE the pick n roll..

simple and quick hittin

Just don't run it with a PG that can't pass.
