Well I decided to give 2k8 another try. I keep thinking maybe there's something I can do to make it play better. Besides, I really like the depth in the legacy mode, so it would be a shame to not experience that because I get too hung up on having realistic stats.

Anyway, my first legacy ended in failure. After simming 3 seasons as North Dakota State, I got fired, and couldn't get another job, so game over. I've restarted as UC Riverside and am running the first game vs Texas Tech now.

I figure I'll sim the majority of my games and play a handful (the big games) as CPU vs CPU. That should help to balance out my need for realistic stats while still allowing me to enjoy the game.
Once upon a time, I had a lovely signature. Then it died. The end.

Lost Lawson and Hansbrough to the draft. I was expecting Hansbrough to go but not Lawson. Not to mention that all my top prospects have signed somewhere else.

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!

Just finished up my first year with Riverside. Not a bad year, but could have been better. 14-15 overall and lost in the second round of the conference tourney, so no postseason.

Lost one starter and recruited a couple of good 3-stars, including a really sweet-looking C at 75 overall. He can rebound, block shots, and runs the floor well for a big man, so he fits in well in my up-tempo pressure style.

Two of my new freshmen are starters, the above-mention C and a SF. The other one comes off the bench and gets 10-15 minutes per game. I'm running and gunning with 10 deep this year, compared to 8 last year.

We scored 131 points in our first game and smoked Northern Illinois. 75 points in the second half!

              Here's to a better season in '08-'09...

Oh, and it's 8 pm here and already my redneck neighbors are shooting off fireworks...

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!

So after cupcaking it with the randomly generated schedule and then getting ambushed when i finally play real competition during the tournament so I figured I'd step up the non conference schedule, I added Duke, Maryland, and one other school from a larger conference. It had some unexpected consequences, I played the tougher competition even pulling off the upset of number 1 Duke (yes I cherry picked duke because they don't press full court). But when I got back to playing lesser competition it was ugly. My first 2 games against other small schools I won by 50 points each time. Its sucks because I'm a stat whore, I like making first team all conference and leading the conference in different stats. But with my starters routinely taking off the second half its going to make this a long conference season.

Started off at Princeton with alot of simming, and some playing.

                  1st Year: 14-14
                  2nd Year: 6-22
3rd Year: 20-9 (12th Seed, loses to a very good Seton Hall team pretty easily)

Then, I take a job at Florida International.

Go 14-20 in my first year, but win the Sunbelt Conference Tournament to have the right to play in the play in game and win that one to face the #1 seeded Florida Gators. Who happened to be 30-1 with their only loss by 1 point. Let's just say... it wasn't pretty. Better luck next year I hope.. lol

                    Finally ranked!!!

I am now #24 with San Diego St at 19-1, losing only to UCLA in my third year of my legacy. I was never able to get Texas St ranked higher than #4 in the mid major poll, but I finally cracked the coaches poll. Bout damn time!

Just finished my first season with St. Francis (NY). Upset Robert Morris in the second round and went onto win the conference title (Won 6 straight to end the season). Then pulled Duke in the first round and...yeah, lets leave it at that.

Being my first College Hoops game the recruiting was a bit overwhelming to start the season, but I got the hang of it and got a 3* 7 footer to add some height to the team.

Also as a side note when I was going through the season recap and checking all the conference champs, somehow the NEC was awarded to Robert Morris even though I won...strange.

could've been regular season champs, just a guess

Yeah, they had the highest record so that makes sense. Is that how conference champs are awarded in the NCAA, rather than the team that won the conference tourney? Being a non-American, I don't know much in the way of how the NCAA runs. Nevertheless, still a great game and I'm having so much fun with it.

The best conference record gets the conference championship. You could have a team that goes 27-2 but not might be conference champions if those two losses come in their conference. Then a team that was 19-14 could win the conference if they had 1 or fewer losses.

Finished my second season at Riverside, mostly simming and playing a few games CPU vs CPU. 13-14, missed out on the conference tourney this year. But I recruited another 3-star SF and a 4-star JC transfer PF (my first 4-star for CHoops 08). Also got a couple more transfers that are decent for my team (mid-60's overall rating) and are sitting out this season.

Simmed the first two games and won. Now I'm running the game against Oregon State and am playing them tough so far.

Will probably make it through this season today and start season 4.

I am pissed off...Bayless transferred from Arizona to San Diego St, so I changed coaching jobs just to be able to coach him because he is an 88 overall. So I am in the Tourney and I just sim to the end and he leaves to goto the NBA without ever playing for my school. How stupid is that?
