Played my 2nd game against 12 Pitt. It was 22-26 at one point when my SG had 16 points. When he had to be pulled to rest I fell apart and went into halftime 26-42. In the 2nd half it never got below 10 and was mostly a 17-25 point game. With around 7 minutes to go I decided to learn more about my team and toy around with my rotations. I went with a smaller lineup with only one true big man on the court and changed up play style to be a lot more fast paced and transition based. Ended up getting playing really nicely and I was able to bring the game from 23 points to losing 71-61.
I've decided for game 3 of the year to start off with the smaller lineup and see how it goes. If they really are that solid as a unit, then it gives me hope that once conference play starts, I will be able to make a little noise. I still only expect 8ish wins on the whole year, but I could get a little more if I am able to outrun other teams like the end of the Pitt game. What gives me confidence is that it was against Pitt's main guys as they didn't make a mass sub until under 2 minutes left and it was already a 10 point game.
