Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!

Just started my first Careef Legacy with the Morehead State Eagles. Currently we are 4-3 with a marquee victory so far coming on the road against Houston and our worst loss coming against a Marshall team that I though I could beat hammering us by 25.

I'm using the 4 out offense with a priority on three point shooters. My best player so far has been a 55 rated guard with 85 three point shooting. My team basically lives and dies with the three ball.

Defensively my team mainly employees a 2-3 matchup zone with a little bit of man to man every once in a while.

Recruiting wise I'm basically going the juco and world route until I get a little bit of depth on my roster as this team isn't very talented compared to the rest of the OVC.

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!

I too just started a new post patch career legacy a couple of days ago with North Florida. It started off great as I somehow beat Maryland by 15 in the first game of the year (I lost to them by like 30 in the same game before the patch). Unfortunately that didn't last long as shortly after that I got killed by both Tulsa and Florida. Both of them beat me by 20+. I then beat Savannah St. and lost by 15 to Florida A&M.

So at the moment I am 2-3, but I could honestly lose the rest of the games and not care because beating Maryland was probably the best game I've ever played given the circumstances and the team I'm playing with.

I also got two players signed during the early signing period. One is a 6'8" athletic 3* SF, and the other is another athletic player that is a 6'10" 2* center. A 2* PG should sign with me at the end of the season as well.

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!

Started a new, post-patch legacy with Western Illinois on MOP. First season I struggled in non-conference, but won the Summit League with a conference record of 14-4. However, I lost in the second round of the conference tourney to a senior-heavy IPFW squad who beat me on two other occasions during the regular season. I finished 18-10, earned a birth to the NIT, but lost in a 76-73 heartbreaker to Temple in the first round.

Remarkably, I was able to get the best recruiting class in my conference. I picked up two 3 star PF's, Capel (67 overall) and Koger (66 overall). I also picked up a 3 star center from Lithuania, Morkelenius [sp?] (67 overall).

Capel and Morkelenius join two returning starters as well as a senior who came off the bench last year as my starting five. I started the year 2-1 with wins at Eastern Illinois and UW-Milwaukee and a 12 point loss at Purdue. Though this may well be a rebuilding year, I still have a chance to compete in the Summit League, but senior-laden Oral Roberts, North Dakota State, and IUPUI (with an 86 overrall SG) may challenge my bid at a repeat performance.

          UCONN Legacy
          19-12 (10-8)
Currently a 7 seed on the bubble for NCAA (RPI: 57) wtf??? the BE had 6-8 top 25 teams and 4 in the top 10 but is the 5th best RPI conference?)
I think I need to definently beat Seton Hall in first round of BE Tourney and then maybe Georgetown in the next to secure it. There are 7 other BE teams set to be in the NCAA tourney. Thabeet is leading the nation in blocks at like 3.5( had one triple double against Depaul), and Price the big east in assists (14.7 pts 7.5 assists). I shoot 24% from the 3 as a team not good. I have gone 8-2 the last 10 since losing a heartbreaker in OT to then (2) Louisville. I play on AM 16 min with real ft and lost a low scoring slugfest on the road to Rutgers (They have 7' 2" nice frosh N'Diaye from Africa who actually dominated Thabeet) 50-51 after AJ price went 1-4 fts and 2-8 as a team down the stretch. I lost to Memphis, Gonzaga (6 10" Austin Daye lit me up for 27 from all over), UCF in an upset (little white 3pt guy) and fair amount of BE against ranked teams (4-6 against top 25).

I recruited a nice 6' 6" 4* SF shooter frosh Juco to replace Marcus Johnson and trying for a 5* out of Hollywood, CA but i am behind USC and UCLA but at 100%. Is there any chance he will sign over them or should i drop the scholly?

I figure I am gonna use my pep talks for the BE tourney game to make sure i can get to the DANCE!!!!!!!!! and what is up not being able to play at MSG anymore????????

            Morehead St:
Year 1- just over .500, #3 in conference but won conference and lost 1st round NCAA.
Year 2- (20-8?)Won regular season conference title, lost in second round of conference tourney, lost second round NCAA.(Had mid major player of the year, avg'd: 26 and 8. a juco PF)
YEar 3- (31-3) Undefeated conference, won conf. tourney, FINAL FOUR- lost to Maryland, Gonzaga won the title. SG-Maze Stallworth led the NCAA in 3 pt shooting. He was freakin amazing as a senior.

Year 4-Took the job a NEVADA. Currently 5-1. Beat Louisville, beat another top #20 team, but lost to my old team Morehead St. at home. When I took the job Nevada already had 5 three-star recruits committed so I had no recruiting to do. They are good players, Nevada has some talent and I am just trying to move up. I usually stop playing these Legacies about this time, but since there won't be a 2K9, I'll just try to play and try and become coach at Kentucky.

New Post patch legacy with TX ST Bobcats: season 1
              • 4-19, second to last in conference. Needless to say no tournament bids.
              • National Champ ffice: <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com<ST1Memphis</ST1</st1:City>.
              • Coach got only 2 pts: Charisma and Defense now at B-. Got 2 new asst. one with a B- in offense the other with a B- in teaching C+ in scouting.
              • Brandon Bush - 6’7” SG made 1st team all conference
              • Jonathan Sloan - 6’8” FR C made conference all-freshmen team
              • Brent Holder - 6’5” SR SG made 3rd team all-conference
              • Conference player of the year went to Chris Daniels - 7’ C from the TXAMCC Islanders
              • Of 3 scholarships offered got 2 guys to sign: *** 6’8” PF from TX, who walks thru the door at a 75 overall. the other is a *** 6’7” PF from <st1:country-region w:st="on"><ST1Ivory Coast</ST1</st1:country-region>, 71 overall.
              • The 3rd was another world recruit had him at about 66-69 interest (with no one else looking) but he didn’t sign.
              • I've got 5 scholarships this year and the recruit class looks a lot better.
              • And by the end of the year with an average target list of about 10-12 recruits, and only going hard after 2-3 (coach visits, scouting, campus visit) I ended the season with about 150 recruiting points left, I'll be playing more ABL games this year.

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!

Sorry to dig up a old thread, but I just started a career legacy with UNF. Simming most games, I managed to win the Atlantic Sun tourney after going into it as the #2 seed. I'm sitting with a 19-11 record now, waiting for the NCAA tournament.

I can't seem to figure out recruiting though. I have one two star that's at 100% with both me and FAMU, and I'm also #4 on a three star's list. I didn't get any during the first period.

EDIT: Just like real life, the #1 seeds were UNC, UCLA, Kansas, and Memphis. LMAO, that's just how good the 2K sim engine is.

Thinking about starting a new career legacy in 2K8. Wondering if you guys who have started one recently have used a new rosters file from 2Kshare, or if you just played with last year's rosters!

Just wondering so I don't get through a month or so and then start over to get updated teams!

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!

I'm not really into basket ball games much, but i do like the legacy mode in 2k's college Bball games. i just rented 2k8(I own 2K5 and play it every once in awhile) and started a career with Texas Southern, man is this game a lot harder than 2K5. I lost to TX A&M-CC 64-32(10 min halves, starter diff.), my next game I lost to UT-Arlington 92-72(16 minute halves, AC diff.) it seems by the time my players finally start making baskets and getting into a rhythm, it's way too late.

there is a lot to get used to though, a lot of new options in legacy mode.

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!

it took me 6 games to finally get a win. a huge upset against Texas, then i lost some more and finally got into conference play and my team was finally competitive.

i finished 19-15 overall, 13-5 in conference play. won the SWAC championship tournament, and I'm the 15th seed in the Midwest Regional bracket. have to play a 25-7 Virginia team in the first round.

I gave them a good run for their money, but the talent level showed and i lost to Virginia 75-68. maybe next season.

How does everyone feel about the game post-patch? I just picked it back up recently and I feel like its more broken than ever...

Now not only am I not having consistent games, I have also lost over the back, blocking, and all of my charging calls....especially charges, as I haven't had 1 yet w/ it even set to 100...

And I wish I could DL the patch, BUT that would keep me from getting on 2k share.
--If you need it, you don't have it. If you have it you don't need it. But if you need and you don't have it, you want it. If you don't have any of it, then you really don't know how to get more of it to get started then anyways now do you? --

just started one, not a career but open using montana state. I normally do career but seeing as I go to montana state and watch there games, know some of their players and whatnot I went ahead and decided to play one with them. I am 3-0, somehow pulled off a win against UNLV. Won by 7 but was down 1 with 35 seconds left and ended up winning by 7 off of made free throws and them being unable to hit anything at the end. Crushed long beach state and then played a tough one at home against boise state but won by 10 at the end.
