Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!

I just started my second season at North Florida. In my first year, I won the regular season conference title, but lost in the 2nd round of the conference tourney. I made it to the 2nd round of the NIT, but fell to Georgia Tech in OT.

I pulled in two 3 star prospects and one 2 star. One of the 3 star guys is a Juco center who dominated in his first game. The other is true freshman power forward who's built like a center. He has played great so far too. The two star center looks a little raw, but has a nice upside.

This year I offered two 3 star point guards, one of whom is a Juco, and two 3 star Juco small forwards. If I land these guys I am going to dominate my conference in my third season and may stick around for my forth. That is, unless I get an offer from UMass.....

Just saw this... haha nah the only one left is Daye.. and he's probably gone after this year to the draft. Dude is a monster though, I mean 6-11 with 85 3pt? He can hit everything plus he's so big and got such good handles he's unstoppable on the drive.

He carried my team through the tourney last year, scoring: 27, 26, 38, 30, and 32 points (when the rest of my team scored 22 combined in a 77-54 final four blowout loss to 2-time defending national champion Duke).

Thought I had a good shot since I only had one scholarship to use. Played the HS all-star game and he was rated 80 and his draft buzz said #1 pick. Could have been the final piece to the puzzle for us.

        ILLINOIS SEASON 4:

def #2 Maryland (who defeated 32-6 Florida in the semis) (33-6) 77-67 Final (was 5 points or less until they had to foul at the end. Maryland looked like Phi Slamma Jamma. Saw an incredbile high alley oop that a guy caught one handed and threw it down.)

SG 6-3 188 5* Bernie Grant New Orleans, LA #22 overall RATED 76 OVR

Surprisingly, no one went pro early, but I lost 2 Sr guards that started and my top reserve. Guards will be very young, but this is by far my best class.

        ILLINOIS SEASON 5:

Returning 3 frontline starters, 2 possibly all-americans. On freshman and 2 seniors projected lottery picks. Was just about to bump up my sliders thinking the game was becoming too easy and I go out and lose 2 of my first 6 games to teams now ranked in the top 5, at UCLA and Florida State in a tournament semifinal. Playing inexperienced kids, especially at guard, really has an effect on this game. Gotta love it!!!

Already gave out my 4 scholarships...first time that has happened this early.

Not quite the caliber as last year, but another stellar class:

PF 6-6 215 5* Fabrice Deren Orland Park, IL #7 overall, #1 PF IL Mr. B

        PF 6-8 240 4* Ian Colwell Chicago, IL #66 overall, #8 PF

SF 6-6 206 4* Nate Christy Indianapolis, IN #38 overall #6 SF IN Mr. B

PG 6-0 165 4* Asten Francis Champaign, IL (first municipal signee) #48 overall #26 PG

I'm in my 4th season of Career Legacy. First season at North Texas. My first 3 years were at UC Riverside. AA difficulty.

          Season 1 - UC Riverside
-16-14, 10-6 Big West (5th place), won Conference Tournament)

-started off slow (2-9), but was able to finish strong, win conference tournament after a few of the higher seeds got upset, and get the NCAA bid.

-as #16 seed, lost to #1 UCONN 66-65 in a heartbreaker. Was up by 1 with time winding down, when Dyson hit a corner jumper. My last second 3 was no good, and the #1 seed survived the #16 seed.

          Season 2 - UC Riverside

-23-12, 12-4 Big West (2nd place), won Conference Tournament

-the dream season. With 3 senior starters, we finished 2nd in the conference regular season to UC Santa Barbara, but won the conference tourney to gain the NCAA bid.

-in the 1st round of the tournament as a #14 seed, knocked off #3 UCLA to set up a 2nd round matchup with #11 seed and Big East conference tournament champs Notre Dame (Big East vs. Big West). We won, to set up a matchup with #2 seed UNC. We suprisingly overpowered the Tar Heels, who couldn't find a go to guy, and advanced to the Elite 8.

-lost in the Elite 8 to #5 seed Florida, who we had also lost to earlier in the season.

          Season 3 - UC Riverside

          -24-9, 14-2 Big West (1st place)

-won reg season title for the first time. However, suffered a disappointing loss in the conference SF to UC Santa Barbara, which effectively killed our NCAA hopes.

-lost in 1st round NIT to SMU.

          OVERALL RESUME (3 Seasons)

          -63-35 record

-led UC Riverside Highlanders, who had previously never made the NCAA Tournament, to 2 consecutive NCAA appearances and an Elite 8 appearance.

-2 Time Big West Coach of the Year

          --------------

Now after being named Big West Coach of the Year 2 years in a row, and with many of my star players gone from UC Riverside, I move onto North Texas, a school coming off a season where they won only 5 games. But they do have 5 returning starters and a solid roster led by Kashien Adams (SF, JR, 80 OVR). I'm already 1-0 at NT with a big win over the Blake Griffin-led OU Sooners at home, 71-64.

            Wow, that great.
I am running with UC Riverside too, I just chose them because they have never been to the NCAA Tournament and am working on turning them into a powerhouse.
            Great post.

              Really that's nice.

I'll give you some advice. (I'm assuming you have the 07-08 rosters; if not, then this is irrelevant lol) Chris Johnson can be a star if you use him right. In my 2nd season, he led the conference in scoring, and was Big West Player of the Year. The best shooters are Johnson and Charles Jim-George. The big men you should use are Bekono and Visman. They are both good inside scorers and solid on the block. I swear it seemed like Visman was automatic in the post at times.

In training I usually worked on shooting, skills, and inside scoring for my guards, and rebounding and post play for the big men. That 2nd season should be fun once some of the Sophomores and Juniors develop. Hope that helps. Good luck.

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!

Over the holidays I got the game for PS3 since I don't have my 360 anymore. My 360 legacy was turning out great for me. I started 2 years at Texas So. got them into the NCAA in my 2nd year. Then went onto Missouri St for about 6 years and had a blast. I enjoyed allot of success and made it to a final 4. Then I jumped to Texas Tech and had a tougher time in the Big 12 and recruiting then I expected, but I was on the verge of making my mark. My first recruiting just became seniors and my team was ranked 3rd pre-season. I was really enjoying that legacy, and playing a rival (Texas) that I really grew to hate. When I first got to Tech it seemed that every recruit I wanted Texas beat me to them. But in my 3rd and 4th year I was starting to pull top Texas recruits and beating Texas U out for a few....Then the RROD hit.

So now on my PS3 I started this time at St. Francis NY. I chose them because they had a good base of returning players for the next 2 years (according to the roster file I downloaded), and I just needed to recruit a decent C. I simmed most of my 1st year and only played Conference road games in my 2nd year. I got my C and I got the team into the NIT in my second season after a soft 25 win season.

I then took a job at WKU since they were the best mid-major job at the time. The team as a whole was pretty average except for this 6-3 guard that was very much like a young Steve Francis. The guy had a 90 dunk and handle rating and just took over games at times. But he was a senior so I only had 1 year to enjoy him. I played all conf. home games, and won the regular season Sun Belt, but lost in the semi's. Got into the tourney via an at large bid and beat a weak 6th seeded GW.

My 1st recurring class was kind of so-so; a trio of 3-stars HS SRs that had low potential that are all average at best. My second one was turning into another lukewarm one because my depth chart was all messed up. I decided to focus on HS JRs and sign a few JuCo's and ignore the seniors. So with 2 JuCo's signed and me just calling regional HS JRs I was shocked when I stumbled on a 4* HS SR Shooting Guard (top 100) that had no offers and no serious interest from other schools. I managed to sign him and he was pretty good. Came in as a 73 overall that can shoot the 3 a bit, and he had a high 70 steal rating.

My 2nd year at WKU I had 3 returning seniors so my new 2-guard had to come off the bench. The Sun Belt had a down year and my team was kind of hard to play with. The returning seniors all had mid to high 70 ratings but were very non-functional ie. a Center who couldn't rebound or back anyone down, a Small Forward who couldn't shoot or defend and was too small to play in the post, and a shooting guard who could only shoot from 3 and had no handle or mid-range game. I ended up simming most of that second season and focusing on practice drills to improve my underclassmen. Can you say rebuilding year...well the sim engine didn't think so. Every conf game I simmed I kept winning!? I ended up simming my way to another regular season Conf title. When I actually played the conference tourney I lost in the finals. I qualified for the NIT and bowed out in the 1st round.

But the most exciting part of year 2 at WKU was my focus on HS JRs the previous year really paid off. I ended up signing a top 10 recruiting class. I got a PG and a Center from in-state to sign. The Center rebounds well, block shots, and has a high Dunk standing rating. The PG is a pure floor general/defender who can hit free throws and was the MR. Basketball for Kentucky...But my prize of the class came in the form of a 6-5 5* HS All-American Small Forward. He was the Mr. Basketball for So. Carolina who was the 3rd best SF in the nation. I was shocked because when he was a JR he was only a 3-star and then he just shot up the charts and I was # 2 on his radar. It made me laugh when I checked his top recruiting priority was: Feeling Wanted, and he was not concerned about playing at a big program. I had requested a scouting tape from him as a sophomore, checked 3 ABL games of his when he was a junior, called/e-mailed him all through his Junior year from week 1. Then when he was a senior I played 1 ABL game, used all my visits, and invited him and sure enough he signed early.

I have to say since my 360 blew out on me, this is the first time I've been into this game in a while. My 3rd year at WKU looks promising. I've got a Shooting Guard/Small Forward combo that kind of reminds me a of poor mans MJ and Scottie, and I have depth at the PG and C positions. I hope I can lead this team to a deep tourney run sometime over the next few years.

Over Xmas break (still on it) I started a legacy with Monmouth using 07-08 rosters (can’t remember whose) on PS3. Monmouth had a freshman named Travis Taylor who was like 70 or 71 overall.

Anyway I am in year 5 now and I decided to redshirt Taylor and take my lumps early while trying to load up the roster. Taylor is now a senior and I have assembled quite a good team around him with a little luck. My plan is to try and find a bigger job after this year with 4 starters leaving but I have kind of grown attached and may stick around a bit.

Taylor is now a 6’9 216lb redshirt senior small forward who I use as a point forward at times due to his great overall skills (82 ovr, 76 3pt, 86 handle, 74 pass, 81 spd). He starts at small forward to me and is without a doubt my team leader. As a junior Taylor averaged 23.2 ppg

7’0 senior Warren Harrington joins him in the frontcourt. I really got lucky with him, as he was only a 3 star juco frosh that I happened to land my first year. He was a 75 ovr as a 1st year soph and is now 78 ovr as a senior. He averaged 12 and 7 for me as a junior providing a legit inside presence both offensively and defensively (1.7 bpg)

My best recruit, freshman small forward Stephen Thompson, joins them in the frontcourt. Thomas, a 4 star recruit (#54 in the class)) out of the Bronx (a city that has been very kind to me) is a monster at 6’11, 235lb. I got on him my freshman year and was able to land him over big east powers Syracuse, Connecticut, Pitt and Georgetown. He is a 76 ovr as a frosh and has legit wing skills (78 3pt, 73 hand, 80 spd).

In the backcourt are 6’5 junior Danatas Gross and 6’4 senior Jake Dowdell. Both are from the Bronx as well as Thompson. Gross (73 OVR) starts at the 2 and is a marksman from downtown. A 3 star recruit out of HS (#187 OVR) he poured in 10 ppg as a soph, hitting 43% from downtown (rated 83 3pt). He has great speed (91 spd) that allows him to be a threat in transition with his bigger frame. Dowdell (73 OVR) is a big PG (6’4, 199lb) that takes care of the ball (82 hand, 84 pass), plays solid D (87 def, 89 spd) and can hit open 3’s.(77 3pt). He was a 3 star out of HS (#167 ovr) and made 1st team all conference last year averaging 7ppg, 6apg.

I don’t usually play a deep bench but when I do, 6’8 Felix Parker, 6’0 C.W. McFadgon, 6’7 Matthew Martin and 6’9 Hatila Guasco are guys I call on. Parker is a decent (70 ovr) backup PF that doesn’t do anything great or terrible. Mcfagdon (69 ovr), another Bronx guy, takes care of the ball and I don’t ask much more from him. Martin (69 ovr) is a mid range specialist that provides solid mins on the wing when needed. Guasco (69 ovr) fills in well on the inside and does a good job of defending, rebounding and blocking shots.

Anyways, I just played my 1st game and man is this team fun to play with. I beat Dartmouth on the road, 87-71. Taylor was OUTANDING with 24 points (9-16 FG) 10 rebounds and 10 assists. His only fault this game was his turnovers (7). Thompson (24 Points, 11 rebounds) and Harrington (13 points, 12 rebounds) are beasts on the inside. Thompson also showed an ability to hit from the perimeter with 4 three-pointers. Gross hit 5 three-pointers and scored 17 points. He was really one dimensional with 0 rebounds, 0 assists, 0 steals and 0 blocks, He did, however, turn it over 4 times. Dowdell had a quiet game with 4 pts, 3 reb, 6 assist and just 1 turnover. The only meaningful bench contributions were parker with 5 pts 3 reb and mcfagdon with 4 assists.

Just finished year 1 at North Texas. Went 29-2 regular season. Only 2 losses were both in conference to Western Kentucky. We won the regular season and conference titles. Turned the team around from a 5 win season before I got here.

Earned a #3 seed in the NCAAs. Beat #14 Northern Arizona pretty handily. I had played NA a few times at UC Riverside, so I was a bit familiar with them.

2nd round, played #6 seed Iowa St. They jumped out on us early 10-0, and really maintained all throughout. Everytime we tried to make a push, they stepped it up and hit a big shot or putback. Just when I thought all hope was lost, stepped up the defensive pressure and forced a few stops, hit key shots to tie it up. Then they drain a 3 to go up 3, but I answered right back. Got a defensive stop, then with the shot clock off, ran the clock down, got it to my big man, and made the basket to go up 2. Their last shot was no good, and NT advances to the Sweet 16 82-80.

In Sweet 16 played #7 Pitt, and was able to win handily even though I turned the level up from AA to MOP. In the Elite 8 (2nd of my career in 4 years), played #5 Clemson. My best player Kashien Adams got 2 fouls in the first minute of the game, so I had to move around my lineup a bit. Luckily, my best shooter, Dedrick Chan, came to play and came off the bench to score 29, going 9-17 from 3-pt range. But Clemson just didn't stop. Everytime I hit a big shot, they had an answer, until finally the combination of my star being in foul trouble and their great shooting was too much. They pulled away late in the 2nd half to win it 98-86 and advance to the Final Four.

                            BTW in the Final Four:

                            #1 BC d. #4 Cincy 86-59
                            #5 Clemson d. #4 Arizona 71-65

                            #5 Clemson d. #1 BC 88-71 to win Nat'l Championship

So the team I lost to won it all. There's solice in that, I guess.

                            Season 4 - North Texas

-32-3 overal record, 16-2 Sun Belt

-Turnaround from 5 wins to 32 wins.

-Won Sun Belt regular season and tournament titles.

-lost in Elite 8 to Clemson 98-86.

Somehow I didn't win Conf COTY. Darrin Horn at WKU beat me out. Oh well.

Now my overall record stands at 95-38 w/ 2 regular season titles, 3 conference tourney titles, and 2 Elite 8 appearances in 4 years.

I just had the greatest game i have played in this game. Im the USC trojans (using the 09-10 rosters and im in my first season). we are 6-0 (after barely pulling out a huge win over oklahoma) heading into our showdown with the number 1 team in the country kansas. We start out great but towards the end of the first half we go ice cold shooting and they take the lead going into half time 33-31 so practicals the whole second half we are like 6 points back. We are going point for point against each other and neither teams defence can do anything. With about 1 minute left i hit a 3 to tie it up. Then what do you know, they hit a 3 to go back up so i hit another 3 to tie it again. I accidently foul them and they make 1 of the two free throws. So with 30 seconds left im just trying to get the best shot possible but all i have is a very contested 3 point shot. I thought it was going to be blocked for sure but it swishes and we take the lead with 10 seconds left. They have a wide up shot for the tie but miss it and we rebound. Jayhawks foul and i make both free throws to end the game 86-82. Coming into this game in all the legacys that i have done i was 0-22 against the 1 ranked teams. Now my next team i have is the memphis tigers who are ranked third. We have the momentum after two HUGE WINS. Lets see if i can make it 3 big wins in a row.

I'm getting a late start compared to most folks here. I'm in season 2 right now with Texas State.

Season 1: 23-8, regular season champs, lost in Conference Tourney Semis to C. Arkansas and was at the mercy of the tournament committee as I was listed as one of the bubble teams. Man, that was nerve racking watching the brackets played out on the selection show (that has to be the coolest feature of any video game ever), but I got in as a #10 seed and played NC State in the first round. I beat NC State by 10 and got the #2 seed Louisville in the second round. Fell behind early, got back within 2-3 points, but couldn't hang and lost by 7. Fun season, I love this game so much.
