Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!

Broke the Final Top 25 and they mentioned out team on the show. #23

First game is against 13 Bradley they stopped and mentioned something about my front court. All of them rated 80+ which is good for a mid-major.

Made it as a 4 seed. Kinda surprised me. Clark even said he was too. He didn't think I would make it past the sweet sixteen.

quickly won 2 straight this morning, then got my *** kicked by oregon state, then brought western illinois behind the woodshed (98-78) i'm pretty sure 98 is the most i've ever scored in a game, i actually fouled intentionally with 5 seconds left cause i wanted to go for 100 lol. had 3 games this past week, my star Center went 25and10 monday, then wednesday he goes 28and16 against oregon state, and in the ***-whoop-fest against western illinois he goes for 43-15. and he was the player of the week!!!!! i half expected Psycho-T to be player of the week as he's been putting up monster numbers.

5-5 right now, probably will change by the end of tonight lol i had this game on the shelf for a month or 2 playin exlusively APF and now i'm on a binge

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!

Dusted off my oldest running Legacy, planning to finish the season I was in and export the draft class for the first time to nba 2k8, and continue doing so for every season I have left before my "swan song" season, which should only get me about 7 or 8 classes (I'm in 2037-38 season).

Brief catchup: Started my career at Lipscomb and moved to Oakland after 5 seasons. Then after 5 years with Oakland moved to Detroit. I stayed with Detroit until I would get an offer from Michigan, which took 13 years with the Titans. I've been controlling Michigan now for 8 seasons. I don't even remember the last time I played this legacy, it's been months but I remember all these players and it's kinda cool to get it going again. Career record at this point: 624-344, 2 championships. (I sim a lot)

        Fast forward:
In the Elite 8 against Michigan State (rated 99 overall) and I'm shocked how loaded this squad is. Just looking at the player pages and they have 4 players listed as "first pick" under draft buzz and 5 others as lottery. They have 4 Mr. Basketballs and 3 HS All Americans.

MSU beat me up pretty good in the first half and took a 38-26 lead into the break. I'm surprised looking at the stats that they only have 3 credited blocks, it seemed like they had about 8. I'm shooting 37% to their 43%. I have a feeling things will turn around in the second half as my guys start to make all the bunnies they missed in the first half. The only thing keeping this relatively close was the decision to switch my D from man to 2-3 zone. Also my best player was knocked out early with foul trouble so I'll be ready to get him going in the 2nd.

Update now in the 2nd half, I haven't been able to narrow the gap, in fact I found myself down by 14 with 6:30 left in the game. The 2-3 zone no longer effective (MSU got 3 happy) I switched back to man defense and that wasn't working either, the Sparty center would just park himself in front of the rim and get all the offensive rebounds. So I make a desperation move and change to the 1-3-1 zone with press settings to 1-2-1-1 zone press and frequency set to always. It worked... big time. Over the next 2:30 we went on an 18-3 run that included my first made 3 of the game after clanking the first 7 tries. We rode the momentum and pushed the lead to 6 with about 2 minutes left. State would hit a couple clutch shots to pull within 2 with a minute left but it was all Michigan the rest of the way. A couple turnovers and a few free throws later, the Wolverines would be on their way to the final 4 with a 76-68 win. It was one of the most exciting games I've played in a while. Especially with the Michigan v MSU rivalry, the fact that they were 99 OVR and it being deep in the tourney.

I use somewhat of a sim/arcade mix. It's sim because of lowered shooting, but arcade because of high game speed and dunking ability. I want somewhat realistic results while still having fun

I can't remember who's slider set I started with so it might look similar to someone else's.

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!

Started my 2028 season with this being my third year at Siena. This year I am playing all the previous school I coached at. At the end of last season I lost one of my assistants.
To make a long story short, went to play North Florida, (UNF legacy starters STAND UP!! lol) went to set my custom playbook and saw they had "All Plays." This was weird because the 500+ legacy games I played, I have never seen that. Went to the Coaches and saw he was a 1st year coach with a record of 2-3. Turns out it was my assistant. UNF was my 1st job.
The apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!

Just wrapped up the 2019-2020 season with West Virginia, the first season at WVU of my career after spending nine seasons at Princeton and three at San Francisco. I've got three Final Fours and a Championship Game appearance in my 13 years of coaching, but I've still yet to cut down the sets and win it all.

I started contacting him around his HS JR year. Turns out he was #1 at his position and I was in his top 3 teams. It was mainly between Duke and Siena (me). Me being 2nd on the list when signing period came. Was kinda bummed to see that Florida got the #1 recruit and was mentioned on the show. I seen plenty of times where they go to #3. Thought I would see my team on the show
As I took over with 4 starting SR's, I knew I could build it into Mid-Major powerhouse. All of the other top 25 signed to Major Conference schools.

I think it might be time for me to start a new legacy; this is still the only offline bball game I enjoy playing. Something about it being college just makes it 100 times better.

I'm going into it with a totally different mind state this time. I think I am going to experiment with editing the height on my team and then editing it of the computer opponents that I play. It, from what I've noticed, yields basically the same simulated stats no matter what the height is, but it seems that anyone over 6'10 is just too much of a beast.

                        we'll see.

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!

After 8 years I am at a turning point in my career. I have just completed my 5th and final season at North Texas. We went 29-1 during the regular season, the only loss being on the road to an SMU team that finished near the bottom of the CUSA, go figure. Won the conference tourney and earned a #1 seed in the West regional. After defeating Eastern Illinois, Oregon, smoking Boston College in the Sweet 16 104-54, and defeating Baylor in the regional final to advance to the Final Four for the 2nd consecutive season. There we would face the #1 Overall Seed Florida. Florida killed us. They would not miss a three. And I couldn't make a shot. They won 98-56. Yep, got embarrassed. Duke beat UNC in the other Semi and beat Florida to win the Nat'l Championship.

So after the season was over, the coaching carousel came up, and to my surprise the UNC job was open, as Roy Williams was retiring. I had to choose between going to an established team and program in UNC, or going to Wake, which had went 6-23 the season before and hasn't made the tournament since 2004 (it's 2014 now). Now mind you, I am a HUGE UNC fan in real life. But ultimately I feel like it's always better to build something from the ground up than to go to something already made, so I passed on UNC and went to Wake. Tubby Smith goes from Hawaii to UNC.

So as I enter my 9th Season, 1st at Wake, here is my resume.
2007-08 UC Riverside 16-14 won conference tourney, l 1st round NCAA
2008-09 " 23-12 won conference tourney, lost in Elite 8
2009-10 " 24-9 won reg season conference, lost conference tourney SF, l 1st rd NIT
2010-11 North Texas 32-3 won conference tourney, lost in Elite 8
                            2011-12 " 28-7 lost Sweet 16
                            2012-13 " 27-5 lost 2nd Round
                            2013-14 " 36-4 National Champions
                            2014-15 " 36-2 lost Final Four

                            Overall Record: 222-56

BTW this is what I have to face in the ACC
                            #1 Duke
                            #2 Maryland
                            #3 UNC
                            #4 Boston College
                            #6 NC State
                            #9 Clemson
                            #11 Miami
                            #16 Georgia Tech

8 of 12 teams in the ACC are top 16.

I'm already 2nd guessing myself. Played the midnight madness scrimmage, and boy, this team is weak. Going from my 93 OVR 91 CHEM North Texas team to 81 OVR in the ACC is going to be tough. We're going to get hammered. But I passed up on my dream job for this, I'm ready to step up to the challenge.

Just start one with Dartmouth. Simmed my first season to get a recruiting class under my belt. Got a 7'1" C, even though he was a 1-Star I am big on having size under the basket, a 6'2" SG - 2-Star. And I was able to pull a 4-Star PG from Senegal.

Hopefully this class gives me some firepower to up the 11-16 record from season one.

Edit: The PG from Senegal is a 69 overall. Huge pull for me, averaging 24 ppg over the first two games

Welcome to Division I basketball, Smackey!!

I just started an open legacy with WVU over the weekend using my 2007 rosters and simming to the current season. So far I'm 3-0, with a 40 point win over Long Island, a 32 point win over Stetson, and a 22 point victory over Fordham. Granted, those aren't opponents to really get psyched about a win over, but what does have me anxious and excited to play my next game is my 6'5", 4* freshman SG, Smackey Carrington. He has exploded onto the Mountaineer scene in a big way and has the WVU fans fired up about the career this kid could have in the blue & gold.

After a tedious recruiting battle with the likes of Syracuse, St. John's, UConn, and Virginia....Smackey gave his committment to Coach Huggins and the Mountaineers, along with fellow 4* recruit & SF, Dennis Cummings. With a solid roster returning from a Sweet 16 team the previous year, this year's squad looks to not only win the Big East, but to bring home the National Championship as well. If the first 3 games of the season are any indication, they very well could be the last team standing after the 2010-2011 campaign.

Smackey made his collegiate debut with an astounding 38 point performance, including an 8-10 shooting clinic from 3-point range. In his 2nd game he didn't disappoint. He dropped in a game high 30 points, along with 8 assists. After a sluggish start in game 3 in which he started out missing his first 6 shots, Smackey went on to score 30 points again, while knocking down 4 consecutive 3-pointers in a 2 minute stretch early in the 2nd half where the Mountaineers rolled off 16 unanswered to basically put the game away.

Next on the schedule is a matchup with undefeated and nationally ranked Tennesse.

EDIT: WVU hands Tennesse their first loss of the season, 74-69. Sophomore C Joe Gordon scored a game high 26 points, while Freshman SG Smackey Carrington chipped in with 17, going 4-7 from 3-point range. Next up for the Mountaineers is road test at 3-1 Oklahoma St.
