my team is a 77 overall, i just lost to SE Missouri and now i'm 6-7 3-2 in conf. my team is better than this i need to start winning games damnit

off to a hot start with VMI. Im 7-1 and just won 3 games in 3 days, with the 3rd being a 2 point victory at Ohio St. Up two with about 15 seconds left and 8 on the shot clock, I shoot an open 3 with my PG who was hot all game, and it was the motion where it hits the rim, goes up and hits the top of the backboard and falls in for the bucket. Ohio St hits a 3 with 5 seconds left, but they didnt foul me all 2nd half, so I was able to run the game out before sending me to the line. Have 3 pretty easy home games before a few more tough ones and then conference play begins

I used to feel bad when the team couldn't foul me enough times at the end to put me on the line. I'd just run around the court dodging guys until the clock ran out. I finally changed my foul sliders so more would be called, it happened to me where I needed to foul like 4 times in 8 seconds just to put them at the line and I didn't even come close.

Yeah for me most the games the fouling has been pretty average. Usually when it gets to the final 2 minutes, both teams have at least 4 or 5 team fouls at the least. When they first fouled and I saw it was the first of the half i had to run around because i didnt want time to keep stopping when there was no chance to get 7 in time. Ill probably adjust a few sliders though, definetly the foul sliders a tad

My 1-8 Northern Florida team suffered a heart breaking loss to 6-2 Miami. I jumped on them early, taking a 25-10 lead en route to a 33-21 halftime lead. They came back to make it 47-45 midway through the 2nd half, but I kept fighting them off, until they finally took a 65-63 lead with under 3 minutes to go. I never regained the lead, losing 74-71. They shot 32% in the first half, 70% in the 2nd half.

I finally picked up my 2nd win of the season against Florida A&M, winning easily 68-54. I have one more non-conference game at Purdue before opening the Atlantic Sun season. Despite my 2-9 record, I feel my team is getting better and should be able to compete in the conference this year. I'm hoping the tough non-conference schedule I played will result in more wins during conference season.

Best job offer I got was from Canisius, so I decided to return to Alcorn State again instead of leaving for Canisius or Toledo. Lost two of my big contributers from last year, and lost a guy that was going to fill in for them as he decided to leave the team, but I'm going into the season as an 80 overall which should work pretty nicely in the SWAC.

Edit: After one or two more seasons at Alcorn State, I left to take the job at Hawaii. First season we made it to the 2nd round of the Big Dance and I landed 2 5 star recruits (a 7'1" C and a 6'5" PG).

As I started my 2nd season at Hawaii, the freshman C came in at a 75 overall with A potential, 6'5" PG just a 61 overall but A+ potential. I threw my C into the starting lineup right away and redshirted the PG.

Once again using my strategy of playing a lot of power conference teams in my non-conference schedule, Hawaii went 1-2 against top 25 teams with a win over then #13 Washington. I won the conference in the regular season and won the conference tournament as well, earning a #12 seed in the big dance matched up against Texas (they are a 99 overall, I'm a 92).
I played the Texas game and pulled off the upset, moving to the 2nd round of the tourny where I faced the #13 seed, Hofstra. Simulated that game and won to get to the Sweet 16 where I faced the #9 seed Mississippi State. Simulated and won. Faced #6 seed Texas A&M in the Elite 8, simulated and once again, won. Played the Final Four game against Michigan State and I kept it close the whole way but I just couldn't complete the comeback and lost by 8 . Next year is definitely going to be a bit of a rebuilding year for Hawaii as my best two players are both graduating. Real tough way to end the season, but hey, Final Four for Hawaii is pretty damn good.

I was offered the head coaching job at Auburn and Arkansas following my stunning Final Four run, but I turned it down because I want to coach these two 5 stars through their careers and see what I can do with them.

Next up was a game at unranked Va Tech. They pretty much dominated from the start. A big factor was my big man Matela being hurt with a sore knee, that really affected my rebounding game. At halftime they led 39-28, and stretched the lead to as much as 16 in the 2nd half. I even smashed a controller due to the frustration of them seemingly scoring at will. But then the comeback kicked in. Was able to switch the full court press into full effect, and it worked to force a few turnovers.

We comeback to tie it at 72, but they scored three straight baskets to take the lead 78-72. It seemed bleak. But we dug in again, got bakc within 2 when an errant pass led to an easy fast break layup for me to tie the game at 78. Their next trip down they couldn't score, and I had the ball for the last possession of the game. I let my PF Courtnei Oliver drive to the hoop...and he was fouled. 2 Free throws. I've already noted how I've struggled w/ FTs this year, so this was not automatic. But Courtnei stepped up and made both FTs to give us the 2 pt lead w/ 3.5 sec left. They had one last shot. A full court pass and a mid range jumper...no good! Wake completes the comeback! Wake 80, VT 78.

Now Wake stands solidly at 17-3, and 4-2 in the mighty ACC.

And we're ranked! #21 in the nation now. So exciting.

Next week it's 2 home games against #10 Miami and a rematch w/ #3 Maryland.
Lost at home to Miami pretty decisively. They were just too strong, and we didn't play a good game defensively. Lost 89-79.

Then came Maryland. Was down by 1 at half, but pushed to a 7 pt lead 60-53. MD came back and went up 1, back and forth, then 2 big 3s by my SR PG Jared Larson put us up by 6. They hit a 3 and fouled, I missed a FT, and they hit another 3 to tie it up w/ 11 sec left. Had a shot to win it, but missed. Was up 4 in OT, then they went on a 12-0 run and ran away with it 95-88.

Now sit at 17-5, 4-4 in the ACC, and 7th place w/ games at Georgia Tech and home against Boston College coming up.

Off to a great nonconference start with VMI. Im 11-1 with wins over Ohio St and UCLA. Beat Lipscomb off a buzzer beater by 1 after i was down 11 with a minute left. Beat UCLA by one when they missed a buzzer beater and i was down 8 with 1:20 left.

Ive got a few nonconferene games left until cnference play stars. My prediction for the year is i lose a total of 5. It would be an excellent season but I guess you never know. Got lucky in a few cases and I know somewhere along the lines Ill have some bad games and not get as lucky. Either way its been a fun start and with my 3 best players being a JR, SO, and FR, Ill pronbably stick around for a while if i can get in some good recruits

Turning down those Power conference jobs looks like it might have been a mistake at this point, as I no longer am getting the offers from those teams. My star C jumped to the NBA after his junior season, but the 5 star PG that started as a 61 overall with A+ potential is finally kicking it into gear. He's my team's leading scorer in his senior year and my Hawaii team has an RPI of 16 with winning records against ranked teams and top 50 teams(still not ranked in the top 25 though ). I ended up as a #6 seed in the tournament and I'm facing Florida State, which is the better team overall wise unfortunately.

In case anyone didn't know, bumping up your scouting and teaching attributes is the best idea I've ever had. My team has gone up from an 82 overall to an 89 as the season has gone on.

.I started out at Jacksonville state, stayed there for ten years and had 7 20 plus win seasons ,7 post season births with my best season makin it to the elite 8 before gettin crushed by G Tech. Two years after that Rick Pitino retired after losin in the NC game to Kentucky and i was offered the job.Four of the five starters where returnin from that team and the 10th ranked recruitin class to boot. This team was a match made in heaven for my style of play.PG first drive and kick style of play along with intense pressure all game.Pitino had built the team i dreamed of havin.

I wind up finishin 2nd n the big east only behind Rutgers who have been dominatin the east coast recruiting scene. We wind up meeting in the CC game as outside of us the big east had a bunch of teams rebuildin so we both kinda ran through the tournament mashin our conference foes. We wind up battlin the entire game back and forth i bet there was 20 lead changes. And with 10 sec left im up by 1 they ful me and my pg who so far is haven a BEAST of a game with 26 pts 13 ast 3 stls goes to the line and hits one of two.So they get the ball and they run a set play that ive seen twice so far so i anticipate the pass and what happens i miss the ball completley, run into the ref(Its doin that dang holdin animation)and their sg splashes a three as time expires.I was highley disappointed cause i knew there went my TOP overall seed which went to Ohio State.

I get to the tournament and the top seed is of course Ohio state who run through a very tough big ten. Then its Louisville,Rutgers, and Texas roundin out the other number 1's.I run through my first three games to the elite8 with no problen crushin Alcorn state,Georgia, and Washington. Then i meet Kentucky in the elite 8 who has three of their returnin staters from their National Championship a year ago.We wind up havin a style vs style match. Both of us almost idenical in play but UK had a better post game.We trail at the half 42-36 but in the second half my guard that played a huge game in the CC game went off.He scored 20 of his 28 in the second half also dishin out 9 assists,to help us beat UK 85-76.

Im at the final four for the first time in my coachin career. Its Lousiville and number 4 seed Memphis and on the other side its Ohio State and........***tgers

I wind up crushin Memphis. For some reason they could not execute on offense at all and were makin poor passes into the paint.I think they would of played alot better game but lost there startin PG in the elite 8 who was the second leadin scorer on the team and highest rated.Either way i win 86 -68.

The Ohio state and Rutgers game was a battle that i would of loved to watch. They wind up goin into 2 overtimes with a final score of 110-109.....................***tgers winnin.

And this is where i stop.I havent played the game yet but after a crazy first season at Louisville i felt like i had to post what had gone on in this awesome year.Ill post the game in a bit but im workin on some new plays cause i wanna give myself the best chance at winnin it all.I LOVE THIS GAME!!!

^^^ GL against Rutgers. Sounds like a great season and its nice you get another shot at Rutgers for all the marbles.

Still in season 1 at VMI, Im 19-1.... its been ridiculous and amazing to say the least. I cant lose. I lost my 2nd game to VCU by 4. Was down huge in that and down 2 with the ball late, I blew it. That made me 1-1. Since then, Ive won every way possible. Been down double digits with a minute left, blown teams out, full out battles till the end, and ive escaped every one. Ive simmed about 6 id say and even then i seem to blow out teams (but all of those have been against worse rated teams with bad records). I play Winthrop in my next game. They arent off to a good start, but certain teams will always stick close no matter what, and i feel with Winthrop being traditionally good in the Big South, this will be a game.

If I win out before the conference tourny, i will be 31-1. Im hoping to hit 30 wins by the end of the conference tourny. The big key to my streak stayin alive is that I have 4 starters I could easily put up 20 with. I dont need to rely on one person, and knowing that makes it easier. Ive figured out my PGs shot to a tee, and in my last game i went 7-7 in the first half with 5 of those being 3s. Was up 24 so i simmed the rest of it to move on.

Not ranked somehow, even with wins over Ohio St, West Virginia and UCLA, but finally this past week went from unranked to 8th in the mid-major poll, which is nice. If i keep winning itll be interesting to see how long it takes to be ranked in the AP or coaches poll.

Since i got finals the next 7, 8 days i wont be playing too much, but when im done and im back home, ill be able to get though year one and think about the rivalries i want to continue or start while at VMI. I kno next year i will play Virginia Tech who ididnt play this year. And teams i play to play every year are Lipscomb (reasons most wont understand), VCU, and Richmond. I will play Virginia year 3 if i dont next year, but well see how the schedule stacks up once the time comes

UPDATE National Championship game: 1 seed Louisville vs 1 seed Rutgers

San Antonio Texas is housin this years Final Four. With two outstandin games already played on this floor, one that will go down as one of the greatest final four matches ever, when Rutgers knocked off a Powerhouse Ohio State team in two overtimes. And the other Louisville knockin off the Memphis Tigers who had an incredible season goin undefeated in Conference play with a record of 33-2.

The game started with Rutgers winnin the tip. We shut them down on the first possesion with a monster block by my 6'11 PF on their slashin SF.That block started a fast break that lead to my pg drivin and dishin to my sg who was settin on the three point line for the moneyball and the first points of the game.BOOYA!!!!We wind up goin back and forth until the 6 min mark where Rutgers caught fire. They hit 8 of their next 10 shots with 4 bein threes. That give them a 12 point lead goin into the half the score 52-40.

                                Second half

We start the second with the ball and a new game plan. They had been runnin a 2-3 zone on us that really had us stuck in the first and fueled there huge run.Imma start my 6'6freshman sg in the second who has a 4 inch height advantage against their two guards, who patrol the perimeter. The switch was a success.I made a few plays that where highley successful against their zone. Both plays for my Sg who hit 5 of his next 7 with two bein threes. We battle back to get it within 5 with 4 min left.Im strugglin to contain their 6'8 225 SF from New York who was the top recruit in last years class. He's a monster on help D and has LBJ like quickness and size.I start to run a 2-3 against them at first it works but then fails as my Fresh sg who is a horrible defender gets abused as they attck that side of the zone scorin 8 points to my 2 in one min time.Down 11 i make one last run to get it within 6 but.......it wasnt enough***tgers win 87-79.

We lose all our starters except my PF.We have a very young talented team with the number 7 ranked recruitin class comin in and only one senior.Im not expectin to even get a sniff of the final four over the next two years but hopefully i can build this team up by three years ill be back.

Sorry for the long type guys i guess i kinda got carried away but im haven a ton of fun even after a loss like that.
