Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!

My poor MTSU Bobcats were destroyed without me leading the way, falling to Louisville in the sweet 16 by 51 points!

In the offseason I received 2 coaching offers from the Colonial that I considered, Virginia Commonwealth and Northeastern. After examining the rosters it's a no brainer, VCU is my new team! The Rams took 22 wins to the NCAA tourney as a 9 seed, and knocked off 8 seed Kansas in the first round before losing to #1 seed Washington in the 2nd round.

The previous head coach used this momentum to land a power conference job at Nebraska, leaving behind a loaded roster. I inherit the entire starting 5, an overall team rating of 84, and a 3 star local SF who my scouts tell me can shoot the 3 with consistency.

Then I catch the biggest break yet. The other available scholarship became available when a PG the previous regime recruited decided to sign elsewhere and in need of a center I notice a 7'2 three star prospect from washington that NO ONE is recruiting! After scouting him it becomes obvious he has 4 or 5 star ability and is flying way under the radar.

I assume after a week or two a power school will sweep in and snatch him up but it never happened and I land the steal of the 2012 class! At 291 lbs, a rating of 78 (including a 90 on offensive rebounding), he'll be the starter from day 1! This is gonna be a real treat, stay tuned!

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!

I am in my 6th year at Dartmouth. I have made the tourney twice, but haven't gotten past the 2nd round. My team this year is rated right around 80, so hopefully we can do something productive. I had some decent job offers, most notably Central Michigan, but ultimately decided to stay with Dartmouth. I am just a really big fan of the Ivy league and how they don't have a conference tournament. I might leave after this year but it depends on the offers i get. My coach is rated B-, so I don't think I will get any really good offers. Do coaching offers depend more on how your team does or on your coaches stats? I mean if I took my team to the final four would I get some pretty good offers?

Coaching offers depends on your grade, to get offers from mid-major/major conferences you have to be at B- or above, to get offers from power conferences you have to be at B+ or above.

Yeah it depends on both really. If your grade isn't high enough you won't get offers from the top schools. But even if you have a high grade you need to win games as a team. I think if you took Dartmouth to the final 4, not only would you gain some coaching points but you'd be a hot commodity on the coaching market.

Okay I figured I would keep some updates here on my Wagner closed legacy. I'll sum up where I am now. After 2 years at Wagner, where I led the Seahwaks, my alma mater, to a 13-17 and then a 17-15 record some dominoes fell and I was offered a 2 year contract at UC-Irvine and took the job. Their overall talent and team rating of 79 was a good 10 points higher than Wagner and have a great base of talent in California.

When I took over my only 2 scholarships were tied up to players signed in the early period, a 2 star and 3 star player that don't look to be major contributors. In the early signing period, I managed to reel in a 3 star JUCO Frosh small forward who will add some much needed outside shooting (rated B- from 3) and a 2 star local center who at 6'9" 222lbs. bring some size and great defensive potential to the table. I have three more scholarships to give out and am in the hunt for a top 250 overall ranked player. A 6'7" power forward who can really rebound and score inside. Point guard is another priority position and I am keeping tabs on some World recruits as a last resort.

I will post updates as the season wears on.

actually i just beat wagner by almost 40 in my long island dynasty (still year two) i think i'm on a 5 game win streak at the moment notable wins include kentucky and penn state, but my team is centered around my freshman small forward and freshman center, so we are VERY inconsistant. my small forward actually had a triple double in the game against wagner, (left him in during hte blowout to get his 9th and 10th rebounds, which took FOREVER to get followed that game up with an 11 point 14 rebound 6 assist game.... he and my center have a great chemistry together in the pick n roll game and also when the defense goes 2-3 on me my small foward (Lucca Mbaha Moute, last name is generated and i changed his first name to make him like Luc Richard's brother) he's GREAT in the high post leading to a lot of easy buckets for my big men...

i'm hoping i can string together a few wins in the conference tourny because i think i can get an upset or two in the NCAA tourny but like i said very inconsistant team... 6 games left in my regular season grrrr now i'm gonna have to turn the xbox back on again

                      3 UNC VS 12 UGAR

49-46 at the half. thier press is killing me 10+ of their points are from steals.
In my second year with my created school. Four of my starters left so I wont hve good team chemistry until close to the end of the year. This will be a learning year.

Hey Cubsball, how hard was it to recruit those freshmen being at LIU? I found the biggest obstacle when I was at Wagner in recruiting was that there seemed to be quite a few good players from NY and maybe I just had trouble uncovering diamonds in the rough, like the 2* players that really have the skills/ratings of 3* players.

I hope to have better success at UC-Irvine, being that they have a better overall talent base, recruiting pool, better conference and likely more recruiting points to use. I will squeeze in a game or two this morning before I have a job interview.

I've decided to start my career with Nicholls State and went 13-16 in the first season while finishing 7th in the Southland. I tried to schedule as nicely as possible...so I didn't play a single ranked team throughout the season but got a notable win at LSU.

I signed two three-star recruits and one two-star 7'0'' C which is absolutely awful.

I'm currently 6-5 in my second season with victories over Stetson, St. Francis (PA), Centenary, New Orleans, Chattanooga and Prairie View while losing to #11 Texas, LSU, UL-Lafayette, #1 Louisville and Rhode Island.

I signed a three-star PF and have already decided that if I am offered a job at the end of the season...I'm leaving.

This game is unbelieveably addicting...I'm so glad class is out now that I've started playing again haha.
After playing Red Dead Redemption for nearly a week, I decided to get back to my legacy. I quoted my first post to remind everyone where I am with things.

After that 6-5 start with Nicholls St. in the the 2008-09 season, we won the Southland regular season title and the conference tournament title. We went into the NCAA tournament as a 14-seed and got thumped by 40 to the eventual NCAA Champion...Arizona.

I left Nicholls State and took an in-state job at UL-Lafayette. The team was very young...starting two freshman and two sophomores...and we went 11-19 in the first season. We finished eighth in the Sun Belt but gained a lot of experience while redshirting our top freshman shooting guard. There were no scholly's available so the 2009-10 season went by very fast.

In the fourth season, UL-Lafayette became a force in the Sun Belt. After a 28-7 record overall which included a 14-4 mark in league play, the Ragin' Cajuns won the Sun Belt regular season and conference tournament. ULL went into the NCAA Tournament as an 11-seed and upset six-seed Baylor in the first round by nine. The tournament run was short-lived though as three-seed South Carolina ousted the Ragin' Cajuns in the second round, 96-76.

I was coach of the year while my junior guard, Jevon Ibekwe won Conference POY honors and was First-Team All-Sun Belt.

Recruiting went unbelieveably well...I signed three four-star athletes (two HS and one JUCO freshy).

Thinking about loading the schedule up for next season. The 28-7 record may have made my team look a little too good.

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!

I decided to start fresh and see how quickly I can land a power conference job. My previous legacy with VCU started great with an already loaded team and a stud incoming freshman center, but I was unable to recruit any talent around him until my final year. Left for Fresno State, where I built a powerhouse pretty quickly, but was kicked in the groin after seeing my final recruiting class with VCU win the national championship while in my 3rd year at Fresno. The buggers even went 36-1.

Anyway, I had Fresno up to 93 overall and bolted for Seton Hall. I thought I'd made it there pretty quickly until I realized it was now 2025, and thus decided to see how fast I really could land a top job if trying hard enough. Problem is I like to sim a LOT and focus mainly on recruiting.

Also I wanted to point out that I've been told you need a B+ to get a power conference job and I was only a B when i got the Seton Hall job, although I was an 82, only 1 point away from a B+

EDIT: Decided to go with Idaho State, I like their uni's and they have a whopping 10 scholarships available. I'm gonna go after five 3* world recruits, two 3* JUCOs and the Mr. Basketball for Idaho whom I expect to have zero chance at signing but no one else is seriously recruiting so I figure might as well give it a shot. I don't want to use all 10 in one season so most likely I'll carry over a few to next year unless I find guys I can't pass up.
