I used to play on MOP with XBOX 360 and was ok, I think I was about .500 overall. Then I switched to PS3 and I don't think I've won a game yet, I've played 5 on MOP and 3 on AC using rspencers.

Re: This game owns my soul.
wassup Q...transitioning over from the FIFA boards killing time til 09, I don't blame ya. This is a great game. The best sports game of 08 by far.
One thing I would advise is to not get disheartened when you lose in this game. There are games where I can't literally hit sh*t and then some where I'm lights out, just like real college ball.
I would try the sliders out and make ur own tweaks to suit your style/team. Also finding a camera angle you feel comfortable on makes a huge difference. I prefer nosebleeds but a lot of guys like the 2k camera.
I'm trying out some new MOP sliders. I expect to get hammered at first which will make me adjust my game.
Enjoy it qComment

Re: This game owns my soul.
I am very deep into my career and am at Memphis. I think I am in year 20 but I am not sure. I cut a few guys that I would at one time loved to have had. I have a great team with a 10 man rotation and 3 studs redshirted. I am now looking at freshmen/sophmore gems to recruit for the future.
I only wish that I would have not turned off the option for guys to leave for the NBA early. I also began with injuries turned off. At the beginning of a career it is hard to get around a injury or 2!For a great Christian website check out http://www.gbntv.org/Comment

Restarted my dynasty yesterday after downloading the rosters from 2Kshare. It's much more enjoyable playing with real names instead of randomly generated fake names.Once upon a time, I had a lovely signature. Then it died. The end.Comment

Re: This game owns my soul.
Now that I am able to recruit great players I can now stand to lose some early to the draft. While I was just starting out I didn't want to lose what few great ones I get to the NBA.
This year I am loaded at C and PF with a 2 each in my 10 man rotation with also a stud PF and C redshirted. Plus I cut a good 4 star C rather than sitting him and then him transferring. If I had injuries on I would have kept him just in case I needed him.
My style is to have 5 starters and 5 subs that I plattoon. This has enabled me to have great unity every year and no one with low confidence. Only a few guys are able to start as freshmen and few walk-ons stay on my team.
This year I have 2 walk-ons that are very good role players. One is a 70 but is a great 3-point shooter and the other is a 6' 6" gaurd that I switched to SF that can go to the hoop against anyone.
I have 3 scholarships available but dont need anyone but the #3 overall really likes me so I am going after him and scouting freshmen and sophmores.
We blew Duke away by 20+ and they had 2 lottery picks and and a first round player on their team. For a great Christian website check out http://www.gbntv.org/Comment

Re: This game owns my soul.
Duquesne (A-10, my alma mater)
Pitt (Big East, another hometown team)
Marquette (Big East, good guards for a year or two, but no bigs in tough conference)
Virginia (ACC, similar OVR to Duq but in a much tougher conference)
Oregon (Pac-10, losing 3 best players after year one in a blah, blah, blah)
It would be cool to bring the Dukes back to respectability as they were somewhat of a national powerhouse back in the 70s, but playing in the A-10 could be somewhat boring. I did one with Pitt in 2K7 (made it through 2+ seasons I think) so I may need a change of pace. Marquette, Virginia & Oregon are three schools that I don't hate in good conferences that might be fun to recruit & build into powers. Any thoughts from those of you who know the ins & outs of the legacy mode?Last edited by Qb; 07-17-2008, 08:15 PM.Comment

Re: This game owns my soul.
Northern ??? someone out west maybe Colorado is who I started with and then I moved to Southern Illinois then to Michigan and then to Memphis where I plan on retiring. I turned down Duke and other great programs. Memphis isn't a power conference but we are always in the top 5 before the season ends. I schedule games with top teams in the pre conference schedule as well as tourneys to get my ranking then I coast throught my conference. For a great Christian website check out http://www.gbntv.org/Comment

Re: This game owns my soul.
Yea this game officially owns my soul, I just got the 360 this past october, have games like mass effect(havent finished) GTAIV(havent finished) orange box(beat portal that's it) NBA2K8(didnt start a season yet) MLB2K8(didnt start a season yet) Splinter cell DA( didn't play since I bought it a couple months ago) NCAAO9( haven't really touched) Rainbow 6 Vegas (didnt end yet) GRAW(didnt end yet) KOTOR (didnt end yet)...rented and beat COD4 tho!....but anyway POST PATCH this game is the best sports game ever!!!! legacy and gameplay isn't perfect but besides not having realistic TO's and realistic tournament seeding the game is a must have.... to me legacy is the best part of this game OPEN of course u can edit the game how u want it to be represented.....coaching caruasell is top notch...recruiting is great they iimprove the overall recruits better names that suits players I've even had brothers play on the same team! mite be my imagination but this happened number of times, both same race, last name, and hometown! I even had twins I kid u not both players both committed to south florida, they was from mexico, same race, same face! if you think im lying just look at your own dynasty and scroll thru diff teams I bet you will see similar...I've even had a guy named hurly play at duke as a PG he was from new york tho but its close enuff to NJ....I didn't even mention thaat CPU control coaches improve in ratings based off their season like the user do!.....Use DK AKA romanceaser rosters plus making sure every team has TWO different recruiting priorities and NEVER use SIZE(use REBOUNDING instead) you wiil have the most realistic legacy ever! coaches even get hired based on their style this way.. soo u will NEVER see UConn goe small!Last edited by Jukeman; 07-19-2008, 10:31 AM.Comment

Re: This game owns my soul.
I've always enjoyed this game and after playing NCAA 09 and then popping 2K back in I appreciate the experience even more. Too bad 2K never put out a college football game.Comment

Re: This game owns my soul.
CHoops is the only game I'm playing at the moment and I can't get enough of my legacy play - all the big men on my squad are all 7 footers. At one point I had a 75 rated team with a rating of 88 for rebounding."We were expecting a miracle with Elite, but instead we got Jesus at halfcourt."

Re: This game owns my soul.
After playing NCAA 2009 I must reiterate how GLORIOUS College Hoops 2k8 is.
Right now, the AI is so skewed and just flat out bad on 09 that...for ME..it's nearly unplayable. There is no "variety" in how teams play, etc. All QBs are incredible, all O lines are brickwalls, etc.
I play Florida and it feels exactly like playing Lousiana Monroe.
Now...in Hoops, it couldn't be more different. I FEEL the pressure of going into Cameron and taking on Duke. I feel the ability to control the game if I'm North Carolina and I'm playing Radford.
Big time players kill me. Bad players get killed. I love it.AUBURN TIGERS
