Re: This game owns my soul.
I almost played through 2 seasons before I stopped playing. I used Monmouth U and my first season I was 14 - 16...2nd season I won 19 and lost 9 before I stopped playing. I may pick it up again once the season starts up again, but I kind of got burnt out. I may just play NBA 2K next year.Goozex

Re: This game owns my soul.
Downloaded the patch and started a new career legacy as Arkansas-Pine Bluff (thought I would try someone new this time around). Currently 1-3 with my only win coming in a fluke at Wichita State. Battling it out with Wyoming at their place right now.
I like the more aggressive defensive gameplay post-patch. And the recruiting fix should keep me more interested this time since every team won't be a 100 overall 5 years in.
Looks like I'll be doing this for a while since there's no 09 and I'm not getting EA's March Crapness (or NCAA Football 09 for that matter).Once upon a time, I had a lovely signature. Then it died. The end.Comment

just change the names to people you know, famous people, or your pets. sometimes you get irritated at them for missing open shots. i had to stop yelling at my point guard one year, because he was my cat's name and the real cat was freaking out.Comment

DC, that is when the game gets to be the best. it's your recruits, your team, your style.

Re: This game owns my soul.
I passed on this game during the real CBB season as my plate was full with NHL & FIFA among other real-world responsibilities. So as I wait out the long summer which is always my gaming down time (why can't there be a decent MLB game for the 360?), I caught a replay of a great December match-up on FCS and it got me thinking:
Would CH2K8 be worth picking up now? I enjoy college ball and I have gotten some enjoyment out of the series in the past. I read some of this thread & it sounds like this is a real winner that might fit my needs; primarily I'm looking for a game to play offline with an immersive dynasty/franchise to keep my interest through the summer. It's funny, the more I type, the more I think I'll be going on a bargain hunt tomorrow...
Which leads me to my final question. I think I remember hearing that some Targets had the game in the clearance bin for $15. Is this correct? If I can't find that sweet deal, I imagine that I could find it used for a reasonable discount...
If anyone feels the need to give a testimonial, please do. I've read a lot of positives, but haven't seen to many negatives (seem to remember something about a wonder-patch that really cleaned things up). OK, I lied; this is my last question: Are there any lingering issues with gameplay or legacy mode that require extensive slider tweaking or workarounds? I ask because most of all, I want a game that I can just get into & play without having to mess around with settings or edit ratings. Thanks guys,

Re: This game owns my soul.
wassup Q...transitioning over from the FIFA boards killing time til 09, I don't blame ya. This is a great game. The best sports game of 08 by far.
One thing I would advise is to not get disheartened when you lose in this game. There are games where I can't literally hit sh*t and then some where I'm lights out, just like real college ball.
I would try the sliders out and make ur own tweaks to suit your style/team. Also finding a camera angle you feel comfortable on makes a huge difference. I prefer nosebleeds but a lot of guys like the 2k camera.
I'm trying out some new MOP sliders. I expect to get hammered at first which will make me adjust my game.
Enjoy it qComment
