    NCAA 10-11 rosters "TRUE GAMEPLAY"

I started my Legacy and my 1st 2 games were against small schools(went 1-1) then I went to play Baylor in a tourny. I thought i could do the same thing i did against the other 2 small schools. "GET THE $$& OUTTA HERE."

I got blocked the first 2 times I brought the ball into the paint. Every bad pass was picked off. One time I dribbled past Acy(SF) and he blocked me anyways off the glass. I was down by 18 points within 5 minutes. They had back-2-back allys on me and when they slammed it the crowd went buck. I then made a decision. I turned my defensive transition down real low (means no offensive rebounds, every1 get the #%# back) and I decided to stop Lacedarius Dunn (SG) from shooting (18pts 1st half) I cut the lead down to 6 at the half. I actually tied the game at one point and Iost by 8 points, outscored 32-30 in 2nd half. Dunn ended up with 27pts. I had 12 TO and got blocked 7 times.

It was a 1-on-1 after my turnover. The PG had the ball and i pressed the red button to draw a charge right under the basket. The PG lobbed the ball up behind his head and Dunn came from behind and dunked over both of us.

I'm hearing yall using a lot of big school and playing other big schools. Eventualy you're gonna have to get the courage to play small vs Big and risk getting blown out. Maybe it's early and you'll start a LEGACY once the season really starts approx 10 days from now.

    Thanks for the continuous feedback.

I simulated a season due to intrigue, and here is what happened. Last year ONE player averaged more than 25 PPG (Aubrey Coleman of Houston), and the next highest player was at 22.7 PPG.

In my simulated season, 31 players were averaging over 25 PPG and the lowest in the top 50 was at 22.8.

Now I understand that the goal behind these rosters was to make the gameplay realistic, which very well be done fantastically, but for simulation purposes that is a huge problem.
When you play your dynasty, to avoid all those unrealistic PPG stats, in your dynasty settings, set your sim minutes to around 17-18 minutes if you are playing 11 minute halves.

Also, I discussed certain tweaks with Deepball on the coach's coaching Philosophies that have also helped enhance my experience. When mixed with his "player tendency" edits, you will get some super realistic games.

EXAMPLE: changing tempo and coaching philosophy to reflect the current styles of play of the particular team's "gunner's" skill set (ex. 1-4 combo) will give you more pick and rolls and a half court 2 man game, while still allowing for a good transition game.

I tested with Temple vs. Syracuse, playing (1) 11 min half with each team (switched at halftime). Fernandez and Allen ran a few perfect pick and roll sets with Allen finishing at the hoop or Fernandez driving or pulling up, or dishing to It also isolated Allen in the blocks and he went to work on me with an array of post moves, (not just fadeaways). When I switched I switched, it ran Triche off screens for easy jumpers, while Jardin drove the ball and dished to whomever was open. Jackson played his best RODMAN impression as trash man.
      COMBINED STATS:
      Fernandez 17pts, 8 assists 3 steals
      Allen 17pts, 16 rebounds, 2 blocks
      Brown 11pts (3/5 3pts), 3 assists, 4 steals
      Triche 21pts 3 assists, 3 steals
      Jardin 13 points, 8 assists, 2 steals
      Jackson 9pts, 13 rebounds, 3 blocks

Final score: SYR 68, TEMP 65

Also, I prefer changing the allocated minutes per player to reflect their "projected" playtime to help with the realism.
These rosters are exceptional and I know Deepball definitely loves the feedback, almost as much as he likes our "horror" stories about certain players lighting us up or certain schools dishing out defeats.

Can't wait til the next version. Until then I'm researching coaching tendencies for this year.

I used your sliders against college of charleston at home. It was a close first half (upped half length to 15,and turned gamespeed to 50) I was up 24-20 at half, started using Williams since I remeber him being a "gunner". Went on a huge run, ending up winning 76-48. Game played well. Will have to play some more games for further evaluation, seems like a lot of the cheapness is gone, i.e. had to play a more cerebral game, not just hit the 4 or 5 on the unstobbable dive to the rim. Also dunks felt like an accomplishment, I actually got excited when I would throw one down. Played a great game of college ball. Ill let you know any further results, loving these so far

            Thanks for the Rosters!
I played as Notre Dame in the first game of my dynasty. I made a few edits to them, added freshman but most of its the same. I played Long Island I believe, A really small school. My team went into a 2-3 zone in the first half but they immediately shot the lights out and got to a 15 point lead.

Ben Hansbrough was 0-5 from three point land. He played terrible in the first half.Long Beach had a trio of guards shoot the lights out in the first half. My shooters were playing poorly. In the second half I switched it up to man to man and put on some pressure.

It took awhile but i cut to lead and then tied it at 47 all with 27 seconds left in the game.
Long Beach's power forward gets fouled and is shooting two. He misses both so I grab the rebound and call a T.O.

Hanbrough holds the ball until about the 18 second mark. I call a PG loop, trying to get it to him inside than pass it down to Tyrone Nash, my big man who played a big role in my comeback finishing with 12 points and 6 boards.

The play is initiated and Ben passes to Scott Martin, the starting SG. Martin dribbles across the court and passes to Tim Abromaitis. He panics and passes back to Martin who with 5 seconds left dumps it back to Ben Hansborugh who was at the 15 foot line. Ben shoots a bad shot and it bricks......... bounces............ and rolls in!!!!!!!!!!

The Final Score was 49-47 Irish.
I am still getting back into 2k8 so my skills are not where they should be. I will make the half length longer so my scores are more 50-60 than 40-50 when I run a low tempo offence.

Top Scorers: Scott Martin: 14 Points Tim Abromaitis 13 Points

Thanks for the feedback guys.Droc81 you are using the gunners the wrong way. They are designed so that when you play against them, they ball hog. As the user, you can make any1 ball hog that you want. So what you did was start using their best player more, which was pretty smart.I'm 1-6 in my season and I'm getting fustrated but it's all good.DavidKoala- same thing with using ND.You guys follow those schools closely? What do you think about their chances at NCAA tourny bid?You guys should play against Texas A&M CC (southland conf) then tell me what really good.

                          SETTING ROTATIONS

If you set the rotations you will get half of what you are intending. The game will not adjust the playing time proportionally according to the roation time set.The good: Rotations will make your simulated stats real acurateThe bad: Rotations will mess up the in-game playing time

example: If you set the PG to 25 minutes.(Based on 12 minute halves) It says that he'll play 14 in minutes in the game, but when you actually play it, the PG will play 25 minutes. Now this won't bother you if you actually play 20 minute halves. (not sure if any1 does that)Now this won't be a problem if you plan on playing your starting five 90% of the game or better. But if you got someone off the bench, they won't get any playing time unless some1 is in foul trouble.
