Way too many 5-star recruits, way too many "world" recruits, tons of 6'10-7'1 recruits a few years into dynasty mode, too easy to sign highly rated recruits, too many star players staying four years resulting in tons of teams being 99 ovr, etc.
I definitely agree with you. I'm still playing 2K8 but plan on getting this game too. I'm sure that both games have their pros and cons. I still play games every now and then of 2K8 where I get frustrated about certain things but I've just learned to accept them. I'm sure this game will be the same. As I stated earlier, the demo was much better than I anticipated.

I don't disagree with you! I'd love to have an outstanding Dynasty mode AND realistic gameplay. Unfortunately, I think this year we have to sacrifice. I think the game plays well right out of the box and will only improve with slider tweaks.

I absolutely love the 'feel' of this game. Miami plays like the real Miami with Hurdle and McClinton running the offense.

Yeah I hear ya, crques. There is no way 2K8 is coming out of my rotation, the game is absolutely great, but it the gameplay has grown old for me. I will never play another legacy but I'll do plenty of stuff with classic teams and probably sim some legacies every now and then.

Interesting theory. I played basketball in high school, and there are definitely some things about NCAA 09's gameplay that I can appreciate more because of it.

Things like spacing, triple threat, and inbounding the ball quick are a few examples.

I also remember from one of the Producer videos that EA said they wanted to emphasize teaching the actual game of basketball to to gamers. They said that football games have always been good at this, but basketball games haven't.

I really like that approach, and it will be interesting to see what kinds of things that they do in future titles to further that goal.

I mentioned this before, this honestly makes me giddy. It's so nice I can finally do this just like UConn (and every other up-tempo team) does in real life. Someone scores on me and I'm ramming the ball back down their throat before they even get back on D. It drove me crazy that I could never do this in 2K.

I have never played organized basketball but I have played pick up games. I loved the demo and so far am loving the final version. I was talking to some guys at work today about how NCAA 09 has this different "feel". I was able to execute the drive and dish, for example, and not have the defender be all over the dish receiver as soon as he catches the pass. It's just more wide open like basketball should be in my opinion.

Exactly, this is the best part of the game. Someone called it "organic", not sure the best word to use though. There are no super human reactions and rotations from the defensive (CPU or human) even on the hardest level. There's finally a sports game where you can play on the default hardest level and there isn't a speed cheat.

This is what UMiami was getting at in terms of playing organized ball and understanding the fundamentals. For example, looking at penetrate and pitch, guards are taught to attack the seams, draw the defense and dump it to an open big man or out for an open jumper. Beat the first line of defense, cause a rotation and then find the open man. You can't really do that in 2K8. Same thing with inside-out. In 2K8 you'd draw the double team alright, but then it would be a mess finding an open man, even if you were facing Yale with UNC. The defense would rotate so quickly or it'd take you too long to pass out of a double team. Nothing was worse in 2K8 than the fact that it was almost impossible to get a wide open jumper. The CPU would always have a Hakim Warrick-esq close out and at least challenge the shot. If you watch a college basketball game, there's a good amount of open permiter shots through out the course of a game - where a shooter can release the ball, land and still not have a defender within a few feet of him. That didn't happen in 2K8 either.

This sorta thing hurt the flow of the game in 2K8 after playing 200+ games. I just got sick of it after a while.

That was my main beef with 2k8. After I had played as much as I did it almost became a game killer to me. It is not in this game at all and I love that. To see my SG take a wide open three and nail it is just a thing of beauty!

                      what about defense?

on all level's of basketball defense is a priority, yet in this game it's terrible and not much attention has been given to that side of the ball.

i'm not here to dampen the mood but lets be real here in highschool and or college we were all taught how to rotate properly for helpside defense.

the ai in this game is very weak in terms of understanding how to react defensively and rotate.

How can you like this game when you press triangle to jump for a rebound and your guy wont respond quick enough to grab it?? Like I said, to each his own, but it's not for me.

Yea I was only there for 1 1/2 years until I transfered to PSU but, I remember going to WVU. Nice gym, I thought it was to dark but, I remember the second play of the game there PF/C dunked on one of our best players Gabe Jackson and we were on the bench like... OH ****!!! I think we ended up losing by 15 or so.

We had a guy on our team from WV. I think he was from Burks/Burch WV or something like that. He was pretty cool.
