Dennis Rodman where would you rank him
With all this talk about ranking PFs and legacies I started wondering where would the worm be ranked. As good as any rebounder ever Moses included, one of the better post defenders I would say up there in top 5 in defense.

Re: Dennis Rodman where would you rank him
Definitley not top 5 but maybe top 10. Top 5 is pushing it too much for him since he only rebounded and played defense and was virtually non-existant offensively. As Shaquille O'Neal left the Suns practice court, he yelled out, "Alvin's the coach. We must be the Clippers. And I must be Olowokandi. Nooooo!" -

Re: Dennis Rodman where would you rank him
i would make him number 5. he could acutally shoot when he wanted to he has done it at times in his career. he said he took no pride in scoring anybody can put the ball through the hoop 10 times in a game and score 20. less than 3 baskets a quarter. he had great form on his shots. and has a career 53%fg percentage. But he played the best d on shaq in the league great leaper has like a 38 inch verticle the best rebounder ever student of the game. people didnt know that he watch his teamates and film of other teams players to learn the tendencies. if they go short on there jump shot where they like to shoot from so he would already have an idea of where the ball would go if the didnt make the shot. Realy he diserves to be a top 5 he was under size under weight played great d. and defence when champion ships the last 2 championship teams r spurs and piston the 2 best defensive teams in the league. Give rodman his credit. great team player and passer as well he did the little things that dont go in the statsComment

Re: Dennis Rodman where would you rank him
He's in my top 10, a lot of ppl forget that Rodman was more then just a really good defenisve guy and rebounder. He was also a great pest as well. He had this knack of completely throwing off whoever he was defending. The series against Utah is a prime example.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: Dennis Rodman where would you rank him
Might make top 10, but doubt it... the guy was traded for Sean Elliott and Bill Curley for God sakes... nothing against my boy Elliott... but that doesn't put the Worm in the league's elite.SAN ANTONIO SPURSComment

Orioles send Curt Schilling, Pete Harnisch and Steve Finley to Astros for Glenn Davis. Does that make schiling any less the great pitcher he is.
Charlie Scott for the Lakers #1 pick, which became Larry Bird.
Does that make larry bird any less the player he is?
Joe Barry Carroll and Ricky Brown for Robert Parish and Kevin McHale.
thats bring down robert parish and mchale down?Comment

Thats bad logic...trade value many times has nothing to do with actual abilityComment

Originally posted by Kashanovathats a horrible reason to bring someone down a top ten just cause of who they were traded for.

When the Spurs had Sean Elliott (Before he was traded) 89-93:
AVG Record: 52-30
When the Spurs had Dennis Rodman 93-95:
AVG Record: 59-23
So not a huge difference... only 7 wins... but I see what you're saying.SAN ANTONIO SPURSComment

When the Celtics had Bird (Not counting 88-89 when he only played 6 games):
(AVG Record) 59-23
When the Celtics had Scott:
(AVG Record) 43-39
That is 16 games... Quite a big differenceSAN ANTONIO SPURSComment

Re: Dennis Rodman where would you rank him
Rodman is the greatest instinctive rebounder in NBA history. It was like he studied the physics of how balls came off the rim. He was an all-time great hustler. Dove, jumped, stretched, scratched and clawed for all loose balls. Fantatic man-u D, decent shot-blocker, took more charges in his career than anyone I have seen since, and an underrated finisher on the offensive end.
If Dennis Rodman didn't go crazy...he'd be a no-brainer Hall of Famer...Listen to The Remodeling Clay Podcast!
