SMH @ the dude talkin dat stuff about ginobli bein white or w/e...i dont care to read it again but that was jes flat out dumb....Yes His skin complexion is white/light, but he isnt white...if any generalizations should be made, they should be "he looks mexican/latino to me" altho I still would disagree...Europeans r not white...they are europeans....Ginobli is not white he is ARGENTINIAN..meanin shawn elliot is an ****....

Here's the rest of it, from the article KDRE posted. .

The backlash goes much deeper than the media. At least three players not playing in the Finals spoken to this week on condition their names not be used -- black players whose NBA jobs are being outsourced -- desperately wanted the Pistons to beat the Spurs.

After that, the quote I had in my original post came up. . I'm glad you brought it up, because the media can be very manipulative of this kind of stuff. I'm wondering if it was taken out of context to sell newspapers or some players actually harbour such feelings.

Just about every player in the NBA is a 'flopper' .

Ben Wallace is about the toughest guy in the league...but I've seen him go down like a set of bowling pins when a 5'9 guard has run into him.

Everyone does it.

Some just do it 'better'...ie Bruce Bowen and Vlade have made it an art form.

There is a difference in selling a call and flailing your arms in the air like you are being electricuted or worse throwing your self to the ground faking contact.

I respect his game for what it is...But the superstar talk has to stop...not because he is white blue or purple its simply is that he is over rated and a product of his system.

Thats crazy all together mainly because outsourcing is a term I would pray no player would ever use this situation

This is the first I have heard of this it just seems like its being blown up but its sad on both parts either way

Blacks= Minorites
Hispanics= Minorities
Arabs= Minorities
White= Not Minorities

Trust me, I hate the term minorities, but that's what is used. If you're a minority, then it means you aren't "white" per se.

This is the way I learned it...Maybe I'm wrong.

Just not in the NBA...

all i did was ask a question about his race . go back and read my post. he does look white. i said nothing about people hating on him.

also, there are many "white" americans who are of spanish descent(which is euro). spanish descent by itself doesnt make you latino. i dont car if he is latino, black, green, or whatever, i was simply asking and, pointing out i dont think "argentinean" is a distinct race.

Given that many Italians emigrated to Argentina a century or so ago and given that Ginobili has a very Italian-sounding name, Ginobili has to be considered white. If he's not, then Italians aren't white either. And if Italians aren't considered white go ask those racist chanting Lazio football club fans if they would consider themselves white.

The point of the thread is how silly Sean Elliot's points were, mainly he's a big Spurs fan obviously.

Gino is a good player. Gino is a known flopper too.

I could care less myself.

Point is, he's from South America, and to imply because he isnt a black guy that other NBA players hate his success is just outlandish.

....."white is not a race" Ginobli is Argentinian...he's more Latino than he is "white" On his voice alone...
