I think they'll battle it out with the Heat for the best record in the East next season, with a darkhorse being Cleveland. Either way, there just seems to be something missing with that team every year. Might be mental toughness..

Yeah, I would have the Pacers no worse than third right now. The Pacers are one of those teams that will win a lot, but can't get through the entire playoff grind. They kind of remind me of the Jazz through most of the 90s. They're missing something and end up losing in the playoffs to a team that has the championship flavor to them.

A) You have to stay healthy or have the depth to get through it... Pacers don't have the depth

B) Pacers ONLY problem is not injuries... they also have not gotten consistent play from their backcourt in ages and their most all-around talented player is nuttier than a fruitcake.... those are both problems.

C) The Pacers are the 3rd best team in the East... I don't think anyone would argue that they are any lower... many would say higher.... but they are not Top 4 in the league.

D) Pacer fans want to automatically ranks themselves above the Pistons for some reason... beat them first...

Guess u could say im bias becuz I am a fan, but the Pacers do have depth...Look @ last year they got into the playoffs (altho just barely) with pretty much there bench squad nobody was healthy that whole season for the Pacers really.

TOP 4 TEAMS IMO Would Be... Spurs Pistons Suns Pacers 5th Is Heat...IMO Havin Shaq jes makes the so overated yea they are a good team, but anyteam with Shaq would be considered great...

They start out as the 3rd best team in the East, that is the way it goes. They have no unreal superstar additon that propels them. Getting RA helps but they lost Reggie. I see them having a very good year but your rose colored glasses obviously could your judgement. And you're injury excuse is comical. Take it like a man.

Pacers are not in the top 4in the east, they need a consistent PG.

Take wht like a man...I was jes stating a fact. Im not usin it as an excuse as to why the pacers have not won a championship...but it did keep them out of the finals 2 years in a row. And as for Tinsley hes consisten enuff. Hes a good floor general that doesnt really need to score to be effective BUT he cant stay healthy so if by stay consisten u mean stay healthy then u r correct...

Take the fact that they didnt make the finals like a man by accepting it. The better team always wins in a playoff series. I could cry about the 03 playoffs when Billups played on one leg when NJ swept them but I dont because NJ was better that year. I feel the Pistons should be back to back right now but they gave game 5 away and lost the series so the Spurs are the better team. They made the plays just like the Pistons did two years ago when they won Game 5 in Indy and game 6 in Detroit.

Injuries are a part of sports. You just hope it doesnt happen to you. No one on Indy is Jordan like where you can say an injury to a player of that caliber cost you a series.

Yes the Pistons are better than the Pacers WITHOUT Artest, but tlast year the Pistons beat the Pacers 4-2 WITH Artest...This year same thing WITHOUT Artest...My final statement..The Healthiest Team Always Wins In A Series...

I guess Artest's imaturity is the reason they are always 5 bucks short in the last 3 seasons. I will consider IND as the top 3 or 4 teams in the East, but not in the NBA. I would not consider IND above DET or MIA for now since the only thing they have proven last season is they can brawl. Sure they are a consistent playoff team but that was under Reggie. I wanted to see how Artest will lead the team against the beast of the east or the Shaq attack. We would not know until next season. But yeah, IND is a team to be respected at least when they have Reggie, but without him though, IND will have to do some changes on thier offensive plays. But that's me.

You say these bad things about Artest, but watch how he plays this season, he is already by far the best on ball defender in the league, and i have him even with Ben Wallace in terms of who the best defender in the entire league is. Then when you put his outstanding offense that he displayed last year before his suspension, where he was averaging 20 some points a game, i think that he has a shot to win the mvp this year, where most people think that is a crazy statement, but he can just take over games. They are definitely the best team in the east this year in my mind with all of there players being healthy and with the additions of the rookies from last year they will be tough to keep out of the finals.
