I noticed you said you let the computer guard the guards while you attempted to block the shot with the big men. I think you should learn to play the man yourself because sometimes the AI wont contest shots. Also by bringing the big man out to block a three you left yourself vulnerable on the boards giving up second chance shot opportunities. Also I noticed you said that you changed to double always, which to me is not a good thing to do when the guy is on the perimeter because again you leave yourself vulnerable and depending on who is helping on the double you place your team at risk when the offense runs the man being double. I know if I saw someone change the settings to double always i would immediately run my offense through the man being doubled just to get the players out of positon and I would rotate to the man that he left and look for my shot opportunity.

This has ALWAYS been a problem with the 2K series.
The perimeter defense is horrible no matter how tight you play or who the actuall defender is.

I actually gave up on 2K3 because of this.

I absolutely HATED it when I called a double on Reggie Miller and have Iverson AND Snow on him and he just casually pops in it BOTH their faces.

Looks like Live has the same problem. AI defenders won't put up their hands to contest the shot, that cause the FG% going higher. Thanks to the freestyle control now i am getting better. When i play 2k2, the best way to play defense is leave it to CPU. I just can't stop them driving the ball to the hole

It's really cool to stop people driving inside by freestyle. I love it.

I played some guy who picked the Celtics and every shot he took was 3 pointer with Paul Pierce. I called for a double team and also brought the player I was controlling to triple team him and guess what most of his 3's still went in. The good thing was I ended up winning by about 6 points anyway. Most of the time I do play my own defense on the ball, but sometimes not there is a major advantage to the offensive player especially if your playing via 56k to have anytime to respond to what the offensive player with the ball does. If you set double team on everyone when you start the game and you double the 3 point shooters all the time and they pass down to the post someone else should pick up that post player in time to stop a dunk or layup.

I notice that the same people who complain about people doubling everyone are the same people who are using the same guy to shoot 3's the entire game.

I was gonna score the raptors, as I am from tdot, but since I was an early enough entrant, the MAV's were available, lol.... Can't hate a man for being early/prompt, lol.... I haven't had this problem at all. Where you playing for rank? What's the default setting for that? If not, what setting where you playing on? I haven't played Pro in a while so maybe that's why this happens.
