Trust me Kidd will keep his attitude in check, Kidd is a true later a few seasons ago when Memphis blew us out he went of on the whole team including the coaches and we eventually got back to how Nets basketball should be played.

Re: Cavs fans.....tell me about Jeff McInnis
Anyone else starting to think that the current Nets roster is much better than the one they went to the Finals twice with?
Jeffereson looked a much, much more rounded / better player last season than he was back then. In their Finals days, he was a great finisher and not much else. Before he got hurt, he started to look like a 20 / 7 and 5 type guy.
Carter + Shareef = better (combined) than KMart and Kittles.
At Center, Nenad Kristic gives them better potential than anyone they've had at that position for a long while.
I guess the key question is, can Jason Kidd get fit enough to play like the Jason Kidd of those Final teams...McInnis may well allow him enough 'rest' time to do that.
If so, these guys are contenders IMO.Comment

Yes better but so is the competition. There was no Detroit, Miami, Indiana this good when they went to the Finals.
Good signing. Should be a good fit as a backup.Comment

.
Good point.
The EAST is starting to take on a deep look. The Nets make it 4 quality teams...and there's a few young teams who look set to come on in leaps and bounds like the Bulls and maybe the Cavs.Comment

What's really crazy is to look at last year's Nets roster, and all the complaints made by New Jersey fans (appropriately)... and this year's Nets roster.
This team really made a turn around. If they play D, I do think they have a real shot at the Finals. I know Kidd can lock a man down... but not sure how motivated Reefa, Tha Carta and RJ are.
McInnis is a good signing I think. Top 5 PG in free agency this year, spark off the bench.

Originally posted by dieselboyDaniels, if given starters minutes, which McInnis had, could easily put up over 15 points per game. In three games, starting against the Spurs in the playoffs, Daniels averaged 19 points per game, and for the series he averaged 17.5. Expect similar numbers from him this season. As for McInnis...
He's made a strong name for himself this past playoffs, but it was just 3 games. Just 3 out of his 622-game career that is....Last edited by HMcCoy; 07-30-2005, 03:49 PM.Hank's Custom Collectibles 3D printer/painter extraordinaireComment

I agree, but the Nets wasted most of their time trying to work out a deal for Shareef, and they were certain Dooling would agree to a deal after that. I don't think they really bothered targeting any other PG/SG type of players because Dooling said numerous times that NJ was his choice. Orlando then came in and offered him a larger deal forcing the Nets to go after McInnis. IMO, I'd rather have McInnis.Comment
