    Your MVP candidates and why...

Less than 3 weeks from training camp now is a good time as any

If your are not going to say why dont bother putting names, and you dont need to put duncan cause he is up there every year.

    Here is mine

    T Mac
I think he has a good shot at getting it this year because his team could actually be good enough to help him get the wins he needs to be in contention. Guys like t mac put up mvp like stats every year so ....

I say if they can get about 55 wins and tmac put up 26pts 6reb 6ast or better he should get it.

    Bron
Bron got votes last year and just like tmac all he needs is wins. The cavs have put together a really solid team and I could see them getting into the playoffs. The thing is though they play in a really good division -detriot, chicago, indiana and a much improved Bucks team- maybe the 2nd best in the league (if not the best) so it will take alot to get home court in the first round but if they do Bron would have a shot at MVP

Bron should put up about 24-26pts 7reb 9ast

I'll leave the rest to you guys

No, it really isn't. Midway through the season is a much better time to have this discussion.

maybe you missed the point of me saying that, It would give us something to do in the mean time ie speculating who you think has a shot and why, it would be funny to come back at the end of the year and see who was right and wrong

It would be really easy to pick MVP candidates during the season cause we know who is doing well, but would anyone have chosen nash before trainign camp last year ...NO

Of course, I will say Lebron.

He had an uncanny year last year placing himself amongst great company, The Big "O" and Jordan himself. If he continues to progress, as I see him doing, there is no limit for the kid. I can easily see him averaging 28 pts, 9 assists, and 8 rebounds per game this year.

With the added supporting cast of Hughes, Jones, and Marshall, this team will be totally revamped. Add to the fact that they have a good defensive coach, I think the Cavs should go into the playoffs with a fairly high seed, which should be good enough to land Lebron an MVP trophy. The first of many to come I might add.

Duncan, Amare, Dirk, Wade, and LBJ will be the top 5 candidates.

Wow. I've been having this discussion with my friend all off-season and we're both leaning on these two as well.

Tim Duncan for MVP next season with Findog and little Nicky on his side, they could easily be the number one in the West.

I hate that about duncan he's like brady getting credit for what others do, im going with mcgrady i think he'll score about 28 and with the new pieces maybe 7 assists. I always felt though that in 2002-2003 mcgrady or kidd should of have that award

Huh? Both of these guys get credit for which they deserve. At times they actually don't get ENOUGH credit, but you think they get credit for what others do....Care to explain with more detail?

Re: Your MVP candidates and why...

Tom Brady has 2 superbowl mvp but did he deserve them hell ****ing no, Branch deserved the 2nd one and ty law deserved the first one if it wasn't for either of those two he has no rings, and when you got people ranking this guy with montana when in current times he's not even a top 3 quarterback it's can make a sane man go nuts, patriots are one of the best teams but i can guarantee if brady is on another team he is at best an above average player. Good yes, Montana or a hall of fame qb nope.

Now to Tim Duncan, this guy has to be one of the luckiest players he's a great player but man if he isn't on the spurs and he would had been on the magic of 2002 or the nets either or he doesn't make the playoffs now if you wanna use that he took a 20 win team to the playoffs it's a flawed arguement cause david robinson was injuried for a huge part of that year dust having the horrible record and before that year spurs where a 59 win team, 1st in the midwest. Tim was good enough to take them to the promise land but if he would had went to another team he doesn't get all this praise i dont know how people can say he is the best pf of all time when he hasn't taken a bad team anywhere doesn't put up remarkable stats or anything, this past year you can say he had a avg team but i have to argue that also cause he had a good back court and great pieces off the bench, i define a player on how big he comes when they need him i only saw tim duncan play one game in the finals with out david robinson and if it weren't for robert horry tim duncan has no rings, so all in all both players are good but with out there supporting cast which are great there nothing special

lol... interesting list. No T-Mac, Duncan, KG, or Shaq?

I'm not suprised that Dirk snuck in there though.

I'll do with Duncan, Amare, Dirk, Wade, LBJ , Garnett, Shaq, Nash, McGrady and I'm gonna go out on a limb and say Baron Davis.

I dont need to explain the superstars, but I'll explain Baron Davis. The Warriors have a really nice team that should be ready to make the push to the playoffs. After they got Baron Davis, Golden State tore the league apart. Baron seems to be setting the table and flow for everyone on Golden State, and I honestly would not be surprised if he is a candidate (although I dont think he'd win).

Check you eyes. Duncan made the list.

KG doesn't make it because I expect Minny to miss the playoffs and that really hurts your votes.

Just look at history and you'll see every MVP (except rare times) had his team in the top 5 records in the league. If you cant even get your team to the playoffs, your gonna be in trouble in terms of MVP voting.

I decided for Wade over Shaq. I expect Shaq to take a step back this year and Wade will be even better. Shaq is definately a candidate but the others IMO, are gonna get more votes. Wade will take some away from Shaq I feel, more-so than the other way around.

And far as Tmac, I'm not sure. I love the guy and he's one of my favorite players, but I'm not sure how well his team will do. He easily could be a candidate, wont win it though.

And Dirk was 3rd last year in MVP voting, ahead of Duncan, KG and Tmac, so including him in among the candidates is nothing to be shocked about. Get over it.

                              Tim Duncan

He's easily the best player in the league. Many people don't realize how good he actually is.
