    2005-2006 Team Expectations

New York Knicks - i love my boys, but i'm hurting for us to piece together a good season. i hope that Larry Brown will provide that magic for us. i know he's not a miracle worker, but i think we're gonna have a decent year. i'll be happy if we make the playoffs.

prediction: eliminated in the second round of the playoffs.

now if we can get Isiah out of there we'll really be in business.

    Re: 2005-2006 Team Expectations

LA Lakers - I expecting the team to have ALOT more structure and be more consistant this year. They may have a so so start but I think by december we would safely know whether this team has what it takes to make to playoffs.

I really want to see what phil does with this team cause we have alot of talent, but talent can only go so far. I want LO have an all star calibur year...there is no reason why he shouldnt, he will have to ball alot of the time and would be the main facilitator of the offence so Im expecting him to play with alot better this year, cause that's his confort zone.

prediction: No clue what to expect right now...I'd like to see them atleast make the playoffs

Charlotte Bobcats- The team will have a very similar build to last year's team, a squad that didnt win a lot of games, but were at least fun to watch and kept almost every game close. Emeka Okafor is in it for year 2, and he had a pretty decent rookie season, exceeding even my expectations. With a year under his belt, he should be even more productive offensively, and may become one of the league's best defensive forwards..he has that potential.

Raymond Felton and Sean May will at least get the local ACC heads to watch a few games, which is never a bad thing. Felton and Knight will probably find themselves in the same backcourt when playing a smaller team to match up a little bit better. Matt Carroll improved over the summer, and should play a big role for this team on both sides of the ball. He brings outside shooting and trips to the line.

      Projected Starting Lineup
      G - Raymond Felton
      G - Matt Carroll
      F - Gerald Wallace
      F - Emeka Okafor
      C - Sean May

I'm not sure if both May and Felton will start, but at least one of them will to start the season..I'll know a little bit more once traning camp is underway. Carroll, Kapono and Wallace will all rotate at the 2-3 spot.

            Re: 2005-2006 Team Expectations

Chicago Bulls This was the suprise team last year. No one(including myself) would have predicted that this team would capture a 4th seed in the East and go to the playoffs. Even though they bowed out in the first round it was an accomplishment that no one would have thought of before the season started. I still felt that they would have beaten the Wizards if they had a healthy Eddie Curry and Luol Deng.

This year there will be no surprises by the opposing teams. No longer will teams look at the Bulls as a cake-walk like it was for 6 years prior to last season. Teams realize that this team is legit and if you ain't comming at all cylinders then your in for a big surprise.

This team is young and talented but are they still hungry? The East has two juggernaunts in Miami and Detriot. There are a handful of teams battling for 3rd and I believe the Bulls are one of those teams.

            Projected Line-up:
            PG- Kirk Hinrich
            SG- Chris Duhon
            C- Eddie Curry
            PF- Antonio Davis/Tyson Chandler
            SF- Luol Deng
            Bench:
            Tyson Chandler/Antonio Davis
            Ben Gordon
            Andreas Nocioni
            Othello Harrington
            Malik Allen
            Jannero Pargo
            Darius Songaila

Prediction: They might not get a 4th seed in the east but they will definately be a playoff team barring major injuries. 45-37

I think 25-30 wins is a good expectation. They lost a ton of games in the fourth quarter and by three or less points, so hopefully with a year of experience they can win their fair share of those

                Re: 2005-2006 Team Expectations

New Jersey Nets- This team should be a whole lot better than last year. However, I do not applaud the Nets' training staff. I know, Shareef Abdur-Rahim and Robert "Tractor" Traylor failing was not the training staff's fault, but I think these tests are very hard to pass for the Nets. 2 in one off-season? That is very questionable.

However, the big 3 is returning (Carter, Jefferson, Kidd), and the Nets now have Nenad Krstic, returning for a second year after a strong rookie season (10 ppg, 5.3 rpg in only 26.2 mpg), and he had an even stronger playoffs (18.3 ppg, 7.5 rpg, and a 56.3 field goal percentage). The Nets, in the past 4 seasons, have always been in the running for the Atlantic Division title, and this year should be no different.

The Nets' acquisitions in the offseason were just minor, but all of these role players can make a big impact this season.

                Off-season Acquisitions:
                PF/C- Marc Jackson (12 ppg, 5 rpg)
SF- Linton Johnson III (03-04 SEASON- 4.2 ppg, 4.5 rpg in 17.9 mpg)
PG- Jeff McInnis (12.8 ppg, 5.1 apg)
                SF- Lamond Murray (6 ppg, .438 3P%)
                F- Scott Padgett (4.2 ppg, 2.8 rpg, .397 3P% in 13.1 mpg)
                SG/SF- Antoine Wright (Texas A&M- 17.8 ppg, .501 FG%, .447 3P%)

There is one big move that Lawrence Frank, in his second full season as an NBA head coach needs to make this season (there may be more). He needs to bench Jason Collins and start Marc Jackson. I don't know what the love is with Collins, but in my opinion, he isn't good. If the Nets can find a way to acquire a pure shooter this season, nothing should stop the Nets from going to the Eastern Conference Finals.

I'm not sure how Dallas will be. Little change in their team, but they have a new coach and more importantly, a new framework of defense first. Its either gonna lift them to elite status or they'll struggle to make the playoffs. Not sure which yet.

I'll put them at a 5th seed as of now.

                    Phoenix Suns:

Well, we all know the stories. Joe Johnson is gone. Quentin is gone. Enter Raja Bell, Kurt Thomas, and various other additions to our depth. I really dont know what to expect out of this team. I'm sure we wont reach 62 wins like we did last year, but I'd be hard pressed to say we wont finish up on top of the Pacific Division.

We'll see how we can follow up that superb season, where, if a few peices fell into place, we couldve gone to the Finals. It's gonna be tough to overthrow the Spurs in the West, but I still feel like we can. I think our additions will help our defense enough without disrupting our offensive flow too much.

I hope the rest of the team is as adamant as Amare, when he says that he expects nothing less than a championship.

                    LETS GO SUNS!

Damn!? That's a big drop off considering they had the best record in the league. And even though they lost Q and Joe Johnson they still have their best two players in Nash(league MVP) and Stoudmire.

Yes. I do believe the Suns won't win 60+ games this year but they are still going to finish in the top 4 of the Western Conference.
