Emeka Okafor is in it for year 2, and he had a pretty decent rookie season, exceeding even my expectations. With a year under his belt, he should be even more productive offensively, and may become one of the league's best defensive forwards..he has that potential.

Raymond Felton and Sean May will at least get the local ACC heads to watch a few games, which is never a bad thing. Felton and Knight will probably find themselves in the same backcourt when playing a smaller team to match up a little bit better. Matt Carroll improved over the summer, and should play a big role for this team on both sides of the ball. He brings outside shooting and trips to the line.

      Projected Starting Lineup
      G - Raymond Felton
      G - Matt Carroll
      F - Gerald Wallace
      F - Emeka Okafor
      C - Sean May

I'm not sure if both May and Felton will start, but at least one of them will to start the season..I'll know a little bit more once traning camp is underway. Carroll, Kapono and Wallace will all rotate at the 2-3 spot.

      Prediction 25-57
Sounds about right. I don't like the overwhelming un-spectacularness(if that makes any sense) of seeing Okafor and May playing together. Two of the best college big men in the past few years, but both are BORING to watch, not too many highlights will come from them(of course this has nothing to do with how good they will be, just pointing it out).

Felton should be fun to watch, I think he'll be very good on this level, they will need him to score a lot more than he was asked to in college. I'm sure he can handle it, just hope he doesn't turn out to be a Marbury or Stevie Franchise type "pg" who just tries to score 25 a game and eventually find themselves costing their teams wins because they are too small to play SG defensively but they aren't really PGs anymore either.

I say they win 30 games, I'm looking forward to hitting up some games at the new arena.

Nah - that's a stretch. Phoenix is still a good team. I was sad to see them lose Johnson, but Q-Rich for Thomas was a good deal IMHO. They still have some wiggle room with their draft picks to make further moves so I doubt that this roster will be the same one they use for the entire season. In fact, their defensive acquisitions may help them actually be a little better overall. Bell is solid and will be better than people think in this system and Jim Jackson should still be productive now that he'll likely start. Diaw and Grant add a physical presence and Thomas will help Amare in the middle. I actually don't mind this team although they really should have found a way to keep JJ. My expectations: 59-23 and win the Pacific Division minimum

Cleveland Cavaliers - We had the best offseason of any team in the NBA IMO. Got the much needed other scorer, 2 three point threats, kept Z, and added some bench role players.

A load will be taken off Lebron & I expect his scoring to drop to about 23.5 a game, but his assists will go up. Hughes will give us another 20 PPG player and Donyell Marshall's 3pt threat will open up Z underneath. Very excited for this season, brings back memories of the 80's Cavs team's.

          PG - Damon Jones
          SG - Larry Hughes
          SF - LeBron James
PF - Donyell Marshall (yes, I think he'll start over Gooden)
          C - Z

Gooden, Eric Snow, Ira Newble, Sasha Pavlovic, Alan Henderson, Luke (finally healthy) Jackson, Jahidi White, etc...team has got some depth!

52-30 and a run in the East!

            Seattle Sonics.

I see us winning Northwest again, over Denver, and then probably making it to the 2nd round of the playoffs.

              Re: 2005-2006 Team Expectations

Golden State Warriors - First time I've actually had playoff expectations since the 90's. They have the talent to run with the best, but the biggest question will be health. Baron Davis has had injury problems the last few years and even Jason Richardson has dealt with various injuries.

Strengths: Have one of the most explosive backcourts in the league. Jason Richardson may be entering his prime. Good core of young guys (Pietrus Biedrens Diogu) to go along with Murphy, Dunleavy, Fisher and Davis

Weaknesses: Lack height and Adonal Foyle is a below average center. Troy Murphy(10.8RPG/#5NBA) needs help to clear the boards. Dunleavy must step up and be more agressive; he's shown flashes, but lacks consistancy. No post-up game with the exception of JRich. They hope Diogu can help out in the post.

Overall: I think we may have a chance seeing the Warriors in the postseason for the first time since 1994. A healthy Baron Davis will make or break their season.
              I do because I can, I can because I want, I want because you say I can't

                    Detroit Pistons:

I look for the offense to improve under Flip, but wonder if the defense will stay rock solid. I think these players have too much pride to let that happen, but it will bear watching. Anything less than a championship will be disappointing. I love this team, and they do what it takes to win so I wont hang myself. Its just that expectations are high when you strive to win a title every year.

I think Rip and Chauncey will continue to get better. Hopefully Rasheed steps up and today in the freep it said he reported to the media day 20 lbs lighter so I see a bounce back year from Sheed. That playoff perfromance had to have left a bad taste in his mouth. If he returns to a consistent post scorer, and I mean every night they could beat anyone. Tay and Ben will be consistent, although I would like for Ben to play a little less minutes so he can be fresher for the 2nd season. The bench will step up because Flip likes to play a deeper team and not rely on 7 guys. This will help down the road. One of these years they will win over 60 games and get home court, hopefully this is the year. Finals or bust!

                      Philadelphia 76ers:

The young nucleus of Dalembert, Green, Korver, and Iguodala is a year older, and a year better. If AI and C-Webb can co-exist, we should contend for the division.

                        Clippers:
Have some talent in Brand, Maggette, Livingston etc. But they are the Clippers, so here's my prediction:
                        Oh no, we suck, again.

                          Re: 2005-2006 Team Expectations

                          Main teams:

Clippers: 6th in the west, finishing ahead of the Lakers for the 2nd year in a row. Will upset the 3rd ranked Warriors in the first round.

Raptors: 1st place in the east...that is 1st place for odds of winning the draft lottery. Then instead of drafting the best player available they'll draft some 7'6 Asian guy no one has ever heard of.

                          Other teams I like:

Warriors: As said above will win the division and finish 3rd in the west only to be upset by the Clippers in round 1.

Suns: Creep into the playoffs by 1 game with the 8th seed. 1st round loss.

Celtics: 7th in the east. 1st round loss.

76ers: 3rd in the east. Will make it to at least the 2nd round.

Hawks: Will win 32 games,Josh Smith will repeat as dunk contest champ.

Heat: 1st in east, will make the NBA finals.
