Good start to the Lakers season.


Definately noticed defensive improvements over last year.

Neither team played exceptionally well (how many fricken' lobs do you have to see before you actually try to defend them), but this Laker team is a better DEFENSIVE team than last year. Last years team would have lost this game by 10 points.

to your prediction. cant wait to see how itll turnout when odom finally finds his nitch. and kwame brown.. once again his first step is a killer.

edit: i love smush. ever since the summer league the mans been bringin it. I LOVED THE STARE DOWN ON A MILLER AFTER MILLER GOT OWNED BY SMUSH. love that intensity.

I can't say both teams played up to their potential, or anywhere near it, but it was still an entertaining game.

Kobe was all splash in overtime.

It doesn't matter. You're going to go out of your way to make it discredit Kobe in your ho-hum manner - and at the end of this inevitably winless argument, you'll make like you weren't targeting Kobe and/or the Lakers at all.

I saw a basketball game with a great performance by a player who wanted to win, and admist the fist pumps and clutch freethrows (while the crowd chanted he "...sucked."), the hustle plays and game-winning shot. Most importantly, his teammates were pumped and backed him with a big effort. This never happened last year. I'm just stating what I saw, and while you obviously saw something very different, don't try and call me on anything.

I've been on your side in countless arguments before, and I consider you one of the better guys around here, so I won't continue if you try and comeback with anything, and I won't ask you to agree with me.

That was just my observation of the game. Nothing more.

It's nice to see Devean George healthy again. He'll be a huge part of the Lakers success this year. Smush came up big as well.. I didn't know he had that type of range either

if d george gets his feet set ill take my chances. you didnt see him during the three year run.. shaq was his best friend (along with everybody elses). lots and lots of threes for d george over that span.

Lamar was really struggling scoring wise, but the overall game was definetly there. He couldn't get those chippies to fall near the basket, hopefully that comes in times. I am happy to see that he took 13 shots. I am hoping he takes around 15 each game.

Odom looked like straight boo boo. Smush is a player. Georges toughness and occasional offensive spark will be big for the 'Show, the y missed him last season. Kwame still looks a bit lost. Kobe did Kobe. Good road win.

I can see already, its going to be a long season on this board, especially if the 'Show plays well...

if d george gets his feet set ill take my chances. you didnt see him during the three year run.. shaq was his best friend (along with everybody elses). lots and lots of threes for d george over that span.

I agree Kobe wanted to win, and as i said, he hit the shot 2nd time around as he should have. Its not like Anyone here is trying to down his abilities.

Please dont even accuse me of tiptoeing around what i want to say, because I can give my bball opinion just as anyone else here. Its not as if there is a secret war going on and im afraid.

I just wish people would finally let kobe be kobe and just stop it with the Jordan comparisons. We couldnt even get past the 1st game.
