Kobe vs TMac articles. . . . sorry about this guys

Sorry about this post in advance guys. I know how everyone dislikes all these comparison threads and everything. I personally dislike them too, but since those two guys are playing against each other tonight, ESPN did some articles about the two. Check them out.

    Kobe Better
Kobe Bryant's appetite for defense and success separates him from Tracy McGrady.

    Tmac Better
With a quicker first step and ability to bang, Tracy McGrady stands taller than Kobe Bryant.

Personally, I just think that they are the best 2-guards in the L. And for me, if I were to build a team around someone, I would choose Kobe. The reason I would is the plain simple fact that TMac is injury prone. His back is giving him problems, and it will contiune to give him problems throughout his career. But they are both incredible.

Doh, sorry, here's another article about the two that was kinda interesting.

While the debate over Kobe and Tracy on the floor might be a close one, most sports marketers would easily choose Bryant over McGrady. Here's why.

They are both very good players, but T-Mac can win games without another superstar on the team where Kobe cannot. He'll score you points, but won't win you games.

Not trying to be a Kobe-*****, but he will always be the Pippen to Shaq's MJ.

Mad respect to the Big Daddy.

I'll take Kobe right now because he has a better all around game right now. I really like T-mac allot too but I think he needs a little more time in the L....Just my opinion

Not that my opinion matters to anybody, but I think T-Mac holds his own against Kobe. Mcgrady has done a great job without a Shaquille O'Neal on his team. Kobe is lucky to have the big fella. Shaq makes Kobe look better than Kobe does for himself... Hell, Shaq makes everyone that he plays with look good.

Re: Kobe vs TMac articles. . . . sorry about this guys

I read the articles and I have something to say. First of all, Kobe will NEVER be Jordan. Everyone says how it helps Kobe that he is on the same team as the most dominant player on the planet, but does everyone forget that Jordan was the most dominant player EVER? Put the 1996-98 Bulls against the Lakers today and the Bulls would win in 6, no doubt. Jordan of those days would not let the Bulls lose. As said in a previous post, Kobe will always be to Shaq what Pippen was to Jordan, that is, a fantastic second scoring option. When Kobe gets in trouble, he goes to Shaq. Shaq doesnt get in trouble. When Pippen got in trouble, he went to Michael. Michael did not get in trouble. Kobe has had nights where he scores 15 points. Jordan never had the luxury of one of those nights because if he did, the Bulls lose by 20. Without Shaq, the Lakers go 3-9. Without Kobe, the Lakers are playoff contenders. Without Jordan, the Bulls barely make the playoffs. With Jordan, they win 6 championships. It's undeniable that there is no comparison between Jordan and anybody else. I hear them saying that in playoff time, Kobe compares to Jordan. How many buzzer-beaters does Kobe have compared to Michael? Michael did it at UNC, he did it against Cleveland twice, he did it against Utah twice, he has done it literally hundreds of times in the regular season. Kobe hasn't done it period. Kobe has the fire, but he lacks the talent and ability to hit that last second shot that Michael had. So let's kill all comparisons to Michael because Michael did it by himself. Kobe NEEDS Shaq and he proved that. As far as comparing him to McGrady, I would also have to take McGrady because McGrady got a Grant Hill-less mediocre team to the playoffs twice. Kobe needed Shaq. Without Shaq, Lakers struggle to make playoffs, it at all. Without McGrady, Orlando is in last, competing with Memphis. McGrady took a bunch of scrubs to the playoffs. Jordan took a bunch of high-school players (Orlando Woolridge was the second best player on the Bulls in Jordan's rookie season) to the playoffs EVERY year. Everyone also forgets that Jordan averaged 26 shots per game and averaged 50.5% field goal for his career. Kobe is at about 43% and McGrady is about 48%. But, staying with the topic, I would pick McGrady.

Good post but I don't agree the bulls barely make the playoffs without MJ (1994 comes to mind). But anyway, I'd pick T-mac of coarse, not taking anything away from Kobe'st talent, but this guy will be a monster in a few years with an injured back, and despite having a coach (Darrell Walker) to write him off, and not give him a chance, and in the process hampering his career in the beginning.

I really like both T mac and Kobe..but one thing i gotta point out, shaq didn't win any championships without KOBE, and they haven't won until got better in his 3rd season or 4th.

Meh, if he didn't win them with Kobe, he would of won them with someone else.

You couldn't be more wrong. If it weren't for Kobe in the 4th quarter of every game against the Spurs in last year's playoffs the Lakers would have lost. Shaq was pretty ineffective and he relied on Kobe to have his back.

Remind me when Penny and Eddie played for the Lakers three years ago? I must of been drunk during that time.
