OBVIOUSLY i was talking about when Shaq played with Penny in Orlando. Or when he played with Eddie before Kobe arrived on the scene.

Oh, I see, I see. I didn't know you meant the time before Shaq became the dominant man he is now. Why didn't you say so. Sometimes I can be way off the mark. The thing is, Kobe couldn't help him either. Something I like to call "Player Development." Or in Shaq's case, the Shaq Pack. Whats the matter, you people don't have Burger King up north?

You couldn't be more wrong. If it weren't for Kobe in the 4th quarter of every game against the Spurs in last year's playoffs the Lakers would have lost. Shaq was pretty ineffective and he relied on Kobe to have his back

And McGrady couldnt have done the same thing? The point is that in that case, Shaq did get in trouble and needed SOMEONE to help him because games are not won by one player. Shaq needed someone to help him and it only helped having one of the best shooting guards. But TMac would have done the same thing. And Jordan wouldnt have gotten in trouble in the first place. And listen to gopher also. He is making valid points. Shaq had to develop into what he is today before he could win championships. Jordan had to develop also. Without Shaq, Kobe would also. Kobe wouldnt be winning titles without Shaq and thats a fact. Kobe is very good, but he will never be Jordan and he isn't as good as TMac now.

Look, I'll I said is Shaq wins the Lakers titles for them, not Magic Phil, not Kobe, SHAQ. Thats a fact you can't argue with. If Shaq didn't have Kobe as a sidekick, he would have someother air show in his place. Kobe is there to please the fans, Shaq is there to win the games, and Phil is there to look pretty on the bench while Shaq wins him rings... and Rick Fox is there for acting lessons, you see, he "acts" like a basketball player, that's his job. I wonder if he'll get nominated for an Emmy next year? Huh, I guess we'll see.

Well I guess that sums it up. Why did they even bother to get Phil and Kobe? They should have just waited for Shaq to develop fully.

Ya, I have to disagree about it being all Shaq. I think Shaq is definitely the main piece. The piece that the team definitely CANNOT do without. But comeon, Phil and Kobe have extremely important roles also. The reason Shaq got so much better was because of Phil, because of Kobe. Phil help bring Shaq along. Kobe helped Shaq by scoring when the big man couldn't. Every piece is important.

Can we forget about this comparison debate. You all agree both of these guys are great players, and the discusson will go on forever. These guys took two diffrent paths which have them where they are now. Noone will convince the other that either is better. I appreciate the talents they both have, and wish I could play on that level. I just love T-macs game more. Doesn't take anything from Kobe, I just perfer T-mac.

Agreed. As of now, I feel, as I am sure most everyone does, that these two are at the top of the game. They are the very best 2-guards in the L. They do it all. Whoever says they like one person over the other is based solely on personal preference. These guys are just amazing. And they are only 23 (TMac) and 24 (Kobe). That in itself is amazing. Imagine when those 2 guys get to 28, they will both just dominate.

I am tired of hearing about Tmac and Kobe, neither one has carried a team to the finals and neither one has won a MVP and that's why AI is the best, but is an underdog just like his team. It's unbelievable how he could get knocked out the 1st round in the playoffs 1 year and he's not even considered to be one of the top 5 players in the league? Are these anaylst S**king T-mac and Kobe Bryant's balls so much that they can't recognize a great player when they see one? I mean come on, AI was just the league MVP two years ago and now he isn't even considered an all-star? That's ludicris, he is the best player in the league after Shaq. He has proven that he can lead a team to wins (unlike Kobe Bryant) and has proven he can lead a team to the finals (unlike T-Mac) SO GIVE THE MAN HIS RESPECT!!!!! He has done amazing things at 6'0" 165. He has been the NBA leading scorer these last couple of years, he's been leading the league in steals, and he's been leading the league in minutes and no RESPECT? To average these things at his height is unreal. He can't be stop, he is the quickest and the fastest player in the league. He can beat you off the dribble, he can move without the ball, he can create his own shots, and he has proven that he can and will PASS the ball and still no RESPECT? He plays defense and he is a tough player with a lot of heart (unlike VC and Ray Allen), who wouldn't want that on their team? The NBA is not all about dunks and stats, it's all about giving it all you got and leaving on the court. I just wish the analyst and critics would understand that AND GIVE CREDIT WHERE CREDIT IS DO!!!!

Yeah, and where are the Lakers and the Magic???? I'll tell you, at the bottom. You know what If the two was so much better how come they can't lead there respected to teams to the finals??? I tell you the Answer, they dont have the Answer. The answer brings more than just points to the table, he brings toughness and heart, he gives it all he's got. If he has to put 50 on the floor to win he'll do it, which is very Jordanesque. All Im sayin is that when you mentioning best guards in the league, you can't leave the Answer out of the conversation. I love Tmac and respect Kobe but, to leave AI out as one of the best is unjust.

Oh yeah and about that comment about getting me band, Im not angry about it and I dont take it to offense cause Kobe fans usually get very emotional when you talk about there man, sort of like when a wife gets uptight when you talk about their husband.
