Re: Artest demands trade - Wants to go to NY
So what I gather, is that he doesn't really want to win, he won't mind if Indy wins without him and in fact he hopes that happens, but he just wants to play at home in NY.-Jay Illestrate, Emcee/Producer/Graphic Artist

Or the Cavs. He'd wouldn't mind coming off the bench behind Lebron! Although I don't see it happening, but I'd love to see him here. Sure he has emotional baggage, but he's one of the toughest guys in the League. Something Cleveland is sorely missing.Twitter - WTF_OS

Re: Artest demands trade - Wants to go to NY
Isn't Larry Brown just as strict about playcalling as Rick Carslile(sp?) is? He should come to the Suns if he doesn't want a structured offense. I think we will be willing to give up James Jones and Raja Bell for him.Just wait till Arsenal moves into Emirates Stadium.Comment

Re: Artest demands trade - Wants to go to NY
Bird,Walsh and Co. are not gonna trade Artest for role players that aren't gonna get any better. I think there are a few things IND will want to get back...
1. Relief from either (or both) Austin Chroshere or Jonathon Bender. Both make about 8 million and have 2 years left on their contract.
2. Players who are ready to contribute but still young and can grow. Indiana is a fairly young team with JO (26), Granger (22), S.Jackson (27), harrison (23), F.Jones (26), and Tinsley (27) so I think getting some young talent would be something they look for.
3. Positions they might look to upgrade are C and PG and probably SF. They have Granger who is suppose to be a heck of a talent and one of my favorite players in the draft so they still have talent at SF. I think they could upgrade at center and pointguard (I think they'd trade Tinsley for a similarly talented PG sice Tinsley cant stay healthy).
However, its gonna be very hard. Anytime a player comes out and demands a trade, he lowers his value considerable and its gonna be touhg for IND to make a deal.
Here are some interesting trades....
IND Trades: Ron Artest (3 yrs, 21.4 million) + Jonathon Bender (2 yrs, 14.9 million)
CLE Trades: Larry Hughes (5 yrs, 59.8 million) + Ira Newble (3 yrs, 9.5 million)
I usually wouldn't think that two "contending" teams would make such a major trade but both guys could use a change of scenary and both probably work out better in their new enviorments.
IND:
G- Tinsley - Javekevius
G- Hughes - F.Jones
F- Jackson - Granger
F- O'Neal - Chroshere
C- Foster - Pollard
CLE:
G- Snow - D.Jones
G- LBJ - L.Jackson
F- Artest - Pavolic
F- Gooden - Marshall
C- "Z" - Henderson/Varejo
IND Trades: Ron Artest (3 yrs, 21.4 million) + Jonathon Bender (2 yrs, 14.9 million) + Austin Chroshere ( 2 yrs, 18.4 million)
NY Trades: Antonio Davis (1 yr, 13.8 million) + David Lee (4 years, 3.5 million) + Quentin Richardson (5 yrs, 40.4 million) + Future 1st
IND:
G- Tinsley - Javekevius
G- Q.Richardson - F.Jones
F- Jackson - Granger
F- O'Neal - D.Lee
C- Foster - A.Davis
NY:
G- Marbury - N.Robinson
G- Crawford - Ariza
F- Artest - Chroshere
F- Frye - M.Rose/M.Taylor
C- E.Curry - J.James/J.Butler
Of coruse where Artest wants to go and where he will go are two totally different things.Last edited by Pointguard; 12-11-2005, 12:59 AM.Comment
