bottom line is that billups may be have a better season (although not even by that much), but nash is a game changer.
I think that's everyone's point. Nash can put up similiar numbers, but it's the things that can't be shown by stats. If you look at them and they have exactly the same numbers, then you have to think Billups is better. I don't think anyone here is going to say Nash is a better defender or more clutch player or anything like that.

And Chauncey Billups is a game changer, I've watched him takeover a game. And what he's done has actually been enough to win his team a championship, Steve Nash can't say that. Nash may be a game changer himself, but you can't say Billups isn't.

Championships are won by teams. Teams with at least solid defenses. The pistons have assembled one of the greatest teams that we've seen in a long time. the suns are explosive but are just now starting to develop a defensive identity.

if you compare them individually, it's a close call.. but give me steve nash because he's a flatout better player than billups. billups has been blessed to be a part of such a great system/personnel. with that being said, once again i believe billups should be the starting PG for the olympic team.

I agree, championships are won by teams and they're one of the best examples of that in recent history. Pistons are a true team and they've got 5 leaders in their starting 5. To say they'd be just as good with Nash at PG isn't a fair statement though. He can't do all the thing that Billups does, he just can't. Billups is perfect for that team. And that team, the Pistons, every team in the league is trying to model their team after that. Billups is truly the ideal PG for today's NBA.

Neither Steve Nash nor Chauncey Billups are the best PG's in the NBA

the best PG in the NBA is Gilbert Arenas

Just because he plays for my Wizards doesnt mean he sucks

quit paying attention to the good teams you banwagoners and watch all the players

Arenas is clearly the best Point Gaurd

No other Point Gaurd has the offensive ability that Arenas has

Anyone remember when Kirk Heinrich stole the ball and was going for the layup and Arenas came back and Blocked his layup by slapping the ball on the Backboard in the 4th Quater in the Playoffs????

or the game winning shot over again Kirk Heinrich in the playoffs

To me he's a shooting guard.

I take Chauncey for reasons stated...contols the game, scores inside and out, plays great D.

Plus, having been a career castoff and a guy who came into the league as a SG in a PG body who learned how to sacrifice some of his scoring for the good of the team...his leadership is off the charts, IMO.

Nash is great, but he's definitely a one-way threat.

I'd take Chauncy because I prefer the stronger PG.

Both great, but I would take #1. The most complete point guard going and only getting better. Nash is awesome, but Billups can abuse him when he has the ball in the post. When they played this year Chauncey got the better of him. Can't go wrong with either though.

But of COURSE Chauncey won't start the Popularity Contest (AKA...All Star Game).

Chauncey will never start an All Star game because he isn't flashy enough. With that being said, I would choose Billups over Nash everytime. Nash is a great player, but as already stated, Chauncey is so much more than just a flashy passer. With the exception of Robert Horry, there isn't anyone else in the league I would rather have when the game is on the line. Billups thrives in clutch situations and the Pistons would be lost without him. Seriously, he has to be the most underated player in all of sports. Hard to imagine that this is the same guy that played for 6 different teams in his first 6 seasons. Credit again to Dumars, for his ability to recognize talent that everyone else seems to overlook.

I love Gil, but he's not a true point guard.
