Potential 3 way deal btwn Tor, Ind and LAL(Source not credible)

Indiana is nearing a three-team trade that would send swingman Ron Artest to the Los Angeles Lakers, a league source has told ProBasketballNews.com.

Meanwhile, Lakers forward Devean George would end up in Indiana.

The third team involved in the proposed trade is the Toronto Raptors, according to the source. The Raptors would send Jalen Rose to Los Angeles -- and in return receive Pacers forward Austin Croshere and at least one player from the Lakers.

The source added that George and an undetermined player from the Raptors -- or perhaps a draft pick -- would be to dealt to the Pacers.

"Basically, it's Artest for Devean George, with the Raptors getting involved to make it work financially," the source said. "When and if it happens, this will be a trade that consists of plenty of throw-ins."

    Meh,

If Babcock is smart he'd keep Jalen around for as long as he can and make a deal with a team that will want/need him around the trade deadline. If Babs can't make a deal that fits our terms then i'd keep Jalen on all year and deal him in the offseason, perhaps a draft day trade or something.

Croshere makes half less than Jalen and expires in 2007, like Jalen. This makes sense. Jalen is crap.

Well if you look at it that way then ok....but would you want to keep Croshere after this season? See i'd rather trade for someone who'll at least stay around.

Croshere will be easy to deal next year as he'll be an expiring contract.

We're still talking about Jalen here. How a team actually wants this guy is beyond me, considering the dollar figure he makes...If we can get cheap contracts for him, I'm all for it.

The Pacers would be getting raped if they pulled that off.

They want Luxury Tax help so they aren't looking to add a big contract.

At the rate their going, they need to get rid of their "dead weight". Remember that Ron ain't playing no more in a Pacers' jersey. All they need is a solid man to help toss in some more points. If that can go down, than this is a good trade. Devean George ain't a buster either. He can play some ball. Won't fill the shoes in for Ron, but then again, Ron wasn't a "star" when he first came in the league. Definitely a thought. I kind of like the trade so far.

LMAO, he was crap in Chicago and he's been crap in Toronto. I would think you would agree cause EVERY Bulls fan I've talked to has said that he was such a detriment to the development of their young players and that Paxon was thrilled to deal him.

As with any player, when you get labeled, it sticks. Those same Bulls players who supposed to affected are still bad (Crawford and Curry). He was the scapegoat for everything that went wrong in Chi while he was here.

He is a good player, age has slowed him down a bit so he cant explode off the dribble like the Fab Five days. All that means is he isnt a 1st option type of guy anymore.

But you put him on a team with guys who can finish, consistently, Jalen would make a excellent playmaker.

I was happy when we got him but he really was lazy on defense which kind of helped us be a bottom of the barrel team that year. I was very embarassed to even have him on my team for the simple fact that he was all offense and no defense. He's a cool type of player though. Just didn't have the same flow he had when he was lighting kats up in Indiana. Still, there weren't any other solid players on that team either. I think Tyson got hurt too much. Eddie was still a bench player. Crawford and Kirk were trying to make it work. Robinson wasn't stepping up like he was suppose to either. I think that Jalen would do wonderful on a struggling team who needs that next option to increase the offense. Teams like Philly, or even the Kings possibly. Well, the Kings are just a lost cause this season, but Philly looks like a direct hit.......

That is an opinion. I'm sure there's someone on here that would be better than him, but just rather make a living doing something more "meaningful" to their life. You never know.......

                            He's decent when he's:

-Not forcing up shot like they've gone out of style
-Actually playing a team oriented game.

The problem is, that rarely ever happens. He used to be a good point forward, but eventually he just started being a hoister of horrible shots and a selfish player. Not to mention the fact that he plays no D whatsoever. He has talent, there's no doubt. He can pass and post up, but there are too many flaws with him and his contract is a hell of a burden.
