Great article on the reaction to Bynum.

What I like is unlike Bogut, Bynum has been referencing players in his own position, a player that is the most dominant ever. He also didn't back down after getting dunked on. You gotta love the reference to CAP. And the Lakers playing defense (now tied with Detroit in d'stats) is going to elevate them in the second half of the season.

It not the points...it the kids reaction...how many rooks would have NOT backed down from shaq after getting totally embarrased...?

alot of rooks would no one wants to be embrassed and not do anything about it, i just think because it's the lakers it gets riduclously over hyped, like man how many rooks wanna take the last shot in games and make it, does that get overhyped, when ben gordon would take the last shots in game did it get overhyped even though it should have?

Sigh, I feel so sorry for you guys.

One complains about the OS NBA forum when both guys are examples of why you cant have a normal discussion regarding anything lakers

i dont think so it's been three years already, but i've seen frye put moves on duncan after duncan did one on him and it wasn't overhyped and i can say frye is better then bynum

Another thing is there have been tons of rookies, that have put moves on all star players, the difference hear is that bynum has done crap this season, nada. but he scores 2 lil points on shaq, and the world goes crazy. Many rookies have scored on shaq tons of times, espcially in the post. I think the LA media just had no hope with the pick of bynum but he does on lil thng and they go crazy, they did the same thing with the first game mihm played it's riduclous

I think he will be a solid player thats all...but given the folks on him day in day out i think he could be a little better than average..at worst.

Also, the reason why this got attention wasnt because it wasnt just because it was the Lakers. Its because of the history between Shaq and the Lakers, Bynum and shaq's comments at the beginning of the season and the fact that a fight almost started because of it. If there wasnt a fight it wouldnt have been as big.

Also, I dont think you understand the word "hype". The Bynum dunk was shown in the highlights for one night. One Night! I watched Sportscenter today and didnt see it so I dont see how its overhyped. ESPN and every other network talked about it the next day which is what they were supposed to do.

But Diop never had shades of anything. Bynum has a good mentor and his skills have definitely improved already over the course of the season.

I dont agree with this way of thinking.

This is OS, not the positivity board.

If someone has a thought, they post it. If you disagree, then do so. Break the post into shreds or have a nice discussion if you will.

But to tell someone say something nice or shut up is not consistent with the way the the boards were created for.

If a TOS violation has occured, let us know and we can take care of that.

Other than that you have options to not respond to people, and also to put them on your ignore list.

To simply tell someone to shut up is not what this message board is all about.
