Clay, why bother. Just think back to a few years ago during the playoffs.

I think only a healthy Phx or SAS could beat Det in a 7 games series...

Its still a great win for the nets

Good win for the Nets absolutely. Anytime you beat the best... it's a great win. I certainly didn't see anything last night, however, that would concern me in a 7 game series.

Wouldn't that support my position considering the Nets took the Pistons to 7 games with a Jason Kidd on one leg?

I'm so glad NJ beat them

I hope the Pistons lose the next game and kiss their 70-win dream goodbye!!!!!!

I think he was referring to Nets fans on this board, not an old series.

However, I would love to hear YOU support your position.

The only bad part about that is that 70-wins is not the Pistons' dream. Another ring is all that matters... whether they end the season at 72, 70, 60... even 55 wins. The ring's the thing.

To me, the only team that can beat the Pistons in a 7-game series is San Antonio. And San Antonio has to be healthy.

And a healthy Miami Heat team IMO.

I didn't say the Nets would win, I said they could win. Richard Jefferson has traditionally owned Tayshawn Prince. Nenad Krstic's jump shooting can draw Ben Wallace away from the middle. Prince is their stopper for perimiter players and even if he plays Carter instead of RJ like in the past, Rip won't be able to stop RJ or Carter. The easiest way for the Pistons to beat the Nets would be to pound Rasheed inside and let Billups abuse Kidd because Kidd isn't quick enough or a good enough defender to even slow down Chauncey Billups.

So I'm not saying the Nets would beat the Pistons but it is possible. Even last year when the Nets were in disarray they played them 1-2 with one of the losses going to OT in Detroit. The only team the Nets can't beat in the East is Miami because the Nets cannot stop a dominant back to basket type player.

a ring is won every year . 70 wins isnt accomplished yearly. im not saying 70 wins is better than a ring . why not try to make history while winning your ring and be remembered as one of the most dominate teams ever , instead of just another champion?

Yawn...you sound like the press who keeps pumping that very thought into ppls heads. I know part of them wants to beat that record. Thats history right there. A ring, everybody got one of those.

Sounds like a couple people just don't understand this Pistons' team...

Would they like to win 70/get the record? Sure.

Are they willing to set the record and not win the title? Absolutely not.

The NBA Championship is what the Pistons want. Period.
