    2 questions...

    1. How long is Hills contract?
    2. How much are they gonna' give Darko if he shows something?

      1. After this season, he has one more year left where he makes something like 16 or 17 million. So in the offseason/summer of 2007, he'll be off the Orlando books.

      2. Probably depends on how well he does but Im gonna assume they'll try to sign him to a reasonable extension this offseason depending on his production in the next 30 games. If they dont reach an agreement, he'll become a RFA the next offseason (2007) and I bet they let someone sign an offer sheet and see if they think Darko is worth that.

About DH12, I too see him being one of the best big man in a few years. What Duncan, KG and now Dirk are right now, I see Dwight, Bosh and Amare being the modern version of the dominant PFs.

Would you take Bosh or Howard?

They had no way to keep him. Shaq was before the invention of Restricted Free Agency. In fact, Shaq leaving how he did was one of the main reasons RFA was introduced in 98/99.

            Thats tough.

I think Bosh can be a #1 option and lead a team offensive and while Howard has the ability, I dont think he will be that good and will need someone to share the scoring load (kinda like what people say with KG). Bosh isn't going to be the defender that Howard will be though.

I think its gonna be a lot like the KG-Duncan debate, but even harder to choose when you consider Amare Stoudemire if he comes back healthy.

            I probably take Howard.

Howard should of made the allstar team instead of one of the 4 pistons. The media got carried away with the pistons record and hyped the coaches into voting for the pistons starters. Either wallace or rip should of been left off.

defintely agreed.. the all star game is about indvidual success more than team success. although i'm not downplaying any of the piston's players talents/or accomplishments this season.. but how can you leave the league leader in rebounds off the freaking all star team?

It's funny you say that... because the player in your avatar is holding him back big time. Dwight's numbers would be so much better without Francis on the team.

Dwight needs more shots and needs to be in a different style of offense. He can run the floor, is developing a great post game, and is a good offensive rebounder.

I think he's going to turn out more like an Amare Stoudemire than a Kevin Garnett. KG can pass and dribble and relies a lot more on finesse than D-Flight. Dwight's just a straight up beast. I'm so glad we got him over Okafor.

Looking back, that shouldn't even have been a debate. I think Amare will have more offensive firepower, but Howard will be a better rebounder and defender but I haven't seen enough of Howard to say.
Just wait till Arsenal moves into Emirates Stadium.

I'd still take a healthy Amare over any of these guys.

Bosh's offensive game is more polished.
Howard is a better rebounder and overall defender.

It's not a slam dunk in Amare's favor.

I'll take Amare's work ethic and determination (not that the other guys dont have it) any day. Not like his offense isnt going to be polished soon enough.

Amare's injury is a huge concern though. He replies on that knee to be the superstar he's turning into.

I always thought Okafor was gonna be a bust. He's been better than I thought but I thought Howard was definately the right pick. Orlando would be well, eh, if they had traded Tmac and drafted Okafor over Dwight in the same offseason.

I know Brnakles dreams about this every night, but a team with Tmac, Jameer Nelson and Dwight Howard would look killer right now.

Yep, his injury is what scares me, but we'll see what happens.

Okafor isnt a bust persay, he did well last year and this year he's been injured a lot, so we still have to see what he can do.

That was my point. He simply wanted a bigger stage. The group of players they had in Orlando around him an Penny were enough to get to one Finals, they would almost certainly have won a title or two if they had a couple more pieces there. It wasn't about winning or money, he just wanted to be in LA.

Amare is good, but he is helped by having a vastly superior surrounding cast than Howard or Bosh get. Injury concerns aside, it really is a toss up betwen Amare, Bosh and Howard right now. All three are terrific, young and will only continue to improve.
