Yao is Not R.O.Y. So Far

Many people have been posting Yao is the rookie of the year while others have said Jay Williams but the real rookie of the year so far is Drew Gooden.

    Leads all rookies in scoring
Top 5 in rebounds, Assists and Blocks.
    Top ten in Steals.
Yao and the former Dookie star are having good seasons but Drew is being overlooked cause of his team. But he gets my vote for ROY

yao ming is already the second best center in the league. i just finished watching them beat the kings tonight. by the end of the season, if yao doesnt tire down from all the ball he has been playing the last couple of years and they keep running some of the offense through him, he will be dominant. leads the league in fg% and points per shot. can pass rebound and block shots and make free throws.

Caron is good I love his game, and the Heat have a another Butler who is good Rashuan Butler I think. They have a nice combonation with their two rookies.

yao had rough start, but im pretty sure he's gonna have a stellar remainder last season

the last 4 games including today he's had
          27 pts, 18 boards, 3 blocks
          16 points, 13 boards, 3 blocks
          18 points, 12 boards, 1 block
          17 points, 15 boards, 4 blocks

he many not put numbers exactly like this for the rest of the season, but they will be fairly similar

at first he wasnt very comfortable and no one was really looking for him
but now he understands how the rockets play and has increased minutes, so he's gonna really shine

yao will most likely get the r.o.y

As of RIGHT NOW...I agree that Drew Gooden is rookie of the year so far...Ming in a very close second.

I have watched Yao for a few years...I watch International basketball a lot (hey, I am obsessive...I watch too many games...!)...and the facts are, Yao is the real deal.

Put it this way, he improves every game. His basketball IQ is off the map.

Put it another way, even if he never improves...RIGHT NOW he is a 15 and 12 guy minimum.

Given likely improvement, he could soon be a 25 and 15 guy. Do you know how rare that is? Ducan, Shaq, not many others. Dream in his prime, The Admiral for his MVP season. Barkey for his. We are talking hall of famer.

                  The Rockets got very lucky.

Yao Ming by far. Look at how much attention he gets during games. He needs to be doubleteamed each time he gets the ball. He's an inside presence defensively as well. He is making the biggest impact out of all rookies so far.

Scary part is, he's just getting started and can only get better. I haven't seen any player or coach say anything bad about him.

I'd say Yao is not ROY right now. If he stays consistent he will be by the end of the season...but you are all also forgetting another very serious contender. Don't forget about Wagner. He's gonna have the green light all year and has tons of talent. He could easily shoot by everyone else.

Yao ming makes the rockets a 1-4 seed without him, they are 7 to 8 or lottery.

YAO IS THE MAN, BE A PART OF SOMETHING BIG,

YAO ROOKIE OF THE YR, he will be in all star game as well backing up the big fella

The rockets aren't going to be 1 to 4 seed this year maybe next year, but Yao Ming "The Ming Dynasty" is this boards favorite. As far as Stoudamire goes he is putting up nice numbers I see him in the top five in ROY voting.

                              It looks like
                              1Yao Ming Dynasty
                              2Drew Gooden
                              3Caron Butler
                              4Amar Stoudamire
                              5JAY Williams
