Vince Carter!

It is very funny that in light of his current injury, people are saying that he is finished. Just a year ago, Vince Carter, who is ONLY 24,:
-scored over 50 twice in the regular, over 40 11 times in the regular season. Only Micheal Jordan and Wilt Chamberlain has ever done it faster.
-was fourth in scoring for two consecutive years, averaging 25.7 and 27.8 respectively.
-had a better FG% than TMac, Kobe, and Pierce for those two years
-scored a NBA record 38 points in the first half of the playoffs. Went on to score 50 that game, boosting his playoff average to 33.6
-was one shot away from leading his team to the Eastern Conference finals. It took MJ 4 years to go to the Eastern Conference finals. Finished the playoffs with a 30.7 average.
-VC and the Raptors were predicted by many experts to win the Eastern Conference and meet Kobe and Shaq in the finals of the 2001-2002 season, ALTHOUGH the Raptors had a decent frontcourt but a bad backcourt.
-Was a leading MVP candidate in the 2001-2002 season before the all-star break.
-and averaged 26.4, 6.1, and 3.1 before the all-star break DESPITE not having a decent PG to get him the ball.
-The Toronto Raptors were 4th in the Eastern Conference at all-star break.

People really do have short memories.

**No need to throw out insults** , the team is based around him, or it was in 2000-2001 when they went to the finals. Now they are trying to get to many scorers like last year with Harpring and Coleman and now this year with KVH and DC.

99-00 - .465% FG - .403% 3 FG
00-01 - .460% FG - .408% 3 FG
01-02 - .428% FG - .387% 3 FG

Those %'s are better than AI, Rip Hamilton, Jerry Stackhouse, Cuttino Mobley, Jason Kidd, Latrell Sprewell, Steve Francis, Paul Pierce (or there right next to his stats), better than Kobe's and TMacs 3 % and alot more.

So I don't know where you got that from.

The reason that he might be finished is because when you have leg injuires like that, i doubt he will be able to dunk the same but you never know, i just hope he gets better faster.

I would just like to see him recover and be sucessful. I don't care too much about the dunks, but at least have him recover enough to feel confident driving to the lane on occassion.

VC is a great player who drive AND shoot the ball -- there aren't many left in the NBA that can do both.

Iverson is the most overrated player in the NBA, period. A guy who shoots that bad is not a star nor shouldn't be. Most of the guys in the NBA can score that many points with as many shots as he gets. Now, he is fun to watch play, there's no doubt about that, but he's an offensive disease. I will say he plays good D though...

Vince really had 26ppg 6rpg 6ast a game at the first of last year. I really hope he gets back because he is my fav player. We had a poll at school (about who was the kids fav player) the players were Vince Carter, Kobe Bryant, Shaq, MJ, T-Mac, AI, guess who won, Vince. Ever since he (Oakman) got in Carter's face for never pushing himself and playing hard, during the 2001 playoffs he (Carter) played well. When Toronto kick Oakman out, Carter went back to his sorry ways again. Carter ain't going to never be the player he was until some one gets on his case and in his face. Toronto should never had got rid of Oakman cause he was teaching him toughness, something Carter lacks. </font color>

First thng is that he is the new Nique......he and Dominique Wilkins are the same player.......high scoring, mostly layups and dunks. VC started developing more of a J than Nique but then the injury bug hit. Not Toronto has given up on him and will ship him eventually......if the Cavs pick him up it will be to shop him to ensure they get the first pick in the draft to land home town boy LeBron. The Cavs have realized that DMiles jhas ZERO J and DWag and Ricky give them enough highlite reel material so Miles is not needed. They can move Ricky to the 3 and fill in the holes for VC since he will not be healthy until late in the year. Then VC comes back strong....the fans come to Gund........they make a playoff run but miss out. Then the shop Vince to the team that wins the lottery so they land LeBron.

No Vince is not the new Nique. I think Vince was on his way to bein the next MJ. He would been able to just work on his game and not worry about the knee.At the time everybody was Vince is second best player in the league behind Shaq. That is from the 00-01 season.I still dont like how peeps are saying that T-mac is so great the guy got out of the first round, and Kobe is unproven. I dont think he can carry a team. Vince really dont need a player to get in his face but a player to talk bout him.
